It’s no secret I am busy. Between working from home, playing taxi to kids, coaching a cheer team, taking dance, and doing whatever else daily life throws my way, I don’t have a lot of free time. Which has meant for me, in the past, skipping breakfast because I was busy making sure my kids got fed and off to school with everything they need. Before I know it, it’s time to go pick them up. Skipping breakfast is not a good thing, so I try to resort to quick and easy, which is why I love smoothies.
I headed to my local Walmart to pick up some Carnation Breakfast Essentials Power, so my mornings could have more of a great start. Smoothies are a quick and easy way for me to get breakfast and I can take it with me on the go. Carnation Breakfast Essentials are the perfect ingredient for me to make a power smoothie that I enjoy!
I love that Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Powder provides 21 Vitamins & Minerals, 13g of Protein, and as Much Calcium as a 6 oz cup of yogurt. When I add my favorite fruits and veggies, it’s makes the best power smoothie, and a healthy way to start my day!
I don’t like complicated and a ton of ingredients for breakfast (I have to deal with that at dinner time), so my power smoothie includes just six items. Since it only takes about 4 minutes to make, from start to finish, it means this on-the-go mom has breakfast in almost an instant.
I opt for the chocolate flavor, because I am a chocoholic, but if chocolate isn’t your thing…no worries. Carnation Breakfast Essentiasl® comes in several flavors: Rich Milk Chocolate, Classic French Vanilla, Classic Chocolate Malt, Strawberry Sensation, and the variety pack which has multiple flavors. So, you can customize your flavors.
Today, I am sharing my recipe with you using the Rich Milk Chocolate flavor, but feel free to change it out with your favorite flavor!
Power Breakfast Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 packet Carnation Breakfast Essentials
- 3/4 cup spinach
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 medium banana, sliced
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk
- 3/4 cup ice
Pour all ingredients into your blender, and blend until smooth.
I will sometimes swap out the spinach for kale or add them both, to really get a good “green” start to my day. Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Powder is such an easy solution for my busy mornings. I also love giving them to my soon to be high schooler, who is in weight lifting. It is a great quick and nutritious snack, for him, between school and weight lifting.
Find Carnation Breakfast Essentials® at your local Walmart and be sure to use this coupon to save a little when you shop! I like that you snuck some spinach in there. It’s so healthy, but it’s hard to get it in sometimes, but this is a great way to get it in 🙂
At first the spinach threw me for a loop, but I am totally getting this flavor combo now and appreciate that it’s a healthier option. Looks delish!
