Black Box Wines, Perfect For Summer Entertaining

Black Box Wines

I fully admit to being nothing close to a wine connoisseur, but when I was asked to do a little summer entertaining using Black Box wines I thought my wine loving friends and family would enjoy the treat. After a busy July 4th it was nice to have an evening at home with friends and family the evening after. Just to sit, relax, sip on wine (well those of us who were old enough of course), enjoy a good dinner, and lots of laughs.

I received 3 “flavors” to try: Moscato, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. Not being a big wine drinker I had my husband do a tiny test when we first received them. He tasted the moscato and enjoyed the sweetness of it compared to other wines he has tasted. When we had our dinner party, I knew merlot would the way to go for anyone who wanted to have something alongside their pasta. It was fun to see what each guest preferred. My grandpa preferred the merlot while the ladies preferred the moscato. Out of the three I definitely preferred the moscato as well, it was the sweetest of the bunch. I don’t do bitter, so it takes a really sweet wine to get me to even come close to tasting it.

Black Box Wine

The interesting thing to me about Black Box Wine was how fresh it stayed. I mentioned opening it for a little test and that was roughly a month before we had our dinner party. The moscato (the only one I tasted) still tasted just as fresh as when we opened it. In the past, with bottled wines, that has not been the case. I love the portability of Black Box Wine, it’s easily carried for a day at friends, on a boat, or to take with you on your next vacation. One box (or a few depending on your group size) is really all you need.

A little more to note about Black Box Wines:

  • Black Box Wines was the first premium 3L box wine in the U.S. The brand started in 2002 and has continued to gain popularity ever since. Alternative packaging is trending, and Black Box is leading the premium 3L box category box wine category.
  • Each 3L box holds the equivalent of four bottles of wine and costs about $25, which is the equivalent to a $6.25 bottle of wine.
  • Black Box Wines are also award-winning, recognized by critics with 40 Gold Medals and 27 “Best Buys” from Wine Enthusiast. In fact, the 90-point 2009 Merlot ranked as Wine Enthusiast’s sixth “Top 100 Best Buy” in 2012.
  • Once opened, the box will stay fresh for about a month, allowing you to pour one glass at a time, or, serve a small gathering or dinner party.

You can get Black Box Wine in two sizes, the 3L size which comes in flavors

I definitely see us using Black Box Wines for entertaining year round, when we want to add a little something other than sweet tea as a meal beverage. I am hoping to try out sangrias (one of the ways you can definitely get me to have a glass) in the coming weeks using the sauvignon blanc. For my Boeuf Bourguignon, I’ll definitely be trying the merlot. I’ll be sure to share the recipes once I do. Be sure to check out the Black Box Wine conversations happening all over the web.

It’s time to think inside the box. Available in ten delicious varietals and two sizes (3L and Tetra), Black Box Wine will have you ready to lose the bottle! Black Box Wines is perfect for all your summer gatherings!
