Brushing is a necessity of life and my boys are the ones who try to do the brush as quick and they can and be done. Regardless of how many times I have stressed the importance of brushing for a certain amount of time, it seems to go in one ear and out the other. They are move visual learners which makes Firefly® toothbrushes perfect for them.
As part of a compensated tour, for Firefly, through Burst media, my family had the chance to check out how brushing can be a bit more fun using the Firefly® Ready Go Brush™ and the Firefly® Fluoride Foam Toothpaste.
The Firefly® Ready Go Brush™ help kids make sure they are brushing each row for one minute, which is the pediatric dentist recommended time (one minute per row). The light up brush makes it easy for kids to keep track of how long they brush each row for. It starts by flashing green for 30 seconds, then flashes another 30 seconds on yellow, finally making it to red to indicate that row is done. The cycle is then repeated for the second row of teeth. The Firefly® Ready Go Brush™ comes in four character choices which are Barbie, Spider Man, Angry Birds, or Firefly. The toothbrush is made for kids ages 3-12, though my 13 year old is using one and loves it.
The other part of the Firefly® brushing that my kids love is the changeup from their regular toothpaste. The Firefly® Fluoride Foam Toothpaste is a different way to brush. Instead of adding the toothpaste to the brush and then starting your routine, you shake the foam toothpaste, then squirt two pumps into the mouth. It’s still got the fluoride needed to help keep teeth cavity free, so you aren’t missing anything. My kids got a kick out of using “foam” to brush their teeth. What I love about the foam, as a mom, is less mess. With my kids there tends to be a toothpaste glob on the counter or the tube gets all messy, not the case with this.
Combined with the fun Firefly® foam toothpaste brushing is no longer a chore, it’s becoming fun for them. Making it fun makes a difference. Instead of the “MOOOOOMMMM do we have to brush our teeth for that long”, they are now making sure to brush the suggested time of 2 minutes thanks to the green, yellow, red light countdown. It’s almost like it has become a competition between then…who can get to the finish line first.
