2014 Mitsubishi Lancer GT Makes For A Sporty Sedan #DriveSTI

STI Disclosure

It’s not a secret, right now, I definitely prefer an SUV or mini-van.  It’s just too much to try to cram all three kids into a car. However, I am always on the lookout for what I might want once the kids are all driving themselves, or even something that might be an option for them.  That’s exactly what the Mitsubishi Lancer GT would be, definitely something I could see my husband or boys driving.  It’s a sedan but so many features make it sporty and the perfect car for them.

I love the sporty look.  Some of the external features that make this sedan more sporty and less sedan looking are: auto-off halogen headlights, a chrome accent front grill, fog lights, side sill extensions, rear wing spoiler, an exhaust finisher, 18 in alloy wheels and of course that rally red and black finish!

Even though I am personally an SUV mom, this car would be perfect for families that only have two kids.  While it can seat three I know, with mine, it would cause quite a few “Mom he’s touching me!!!”  So for us, we have to stick to three rows for long car trips, for a little while longer. However, there is plenty of room in this for around town!

When you are only toting two kids and/or friends in the back, they even have their own cup holders.  Also, the 60/40 back seat allows for extra storage just in case you need it.  Though the trunk is already quite spacious…

MItsubishi Extras

One of my favorite features of this (or any car) is the rear back-up camera!  It’s great to get a better view when backing up!  The Mitsubishi Lancer GT definitely has a lot of get up and go, which is something my husband really appreciated. With a powerful 168-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is available in the 5 speed manual or the continuously variable transmission (CVT), it definitely does not lack power. Of course that makes you wonder about fuel, in the GT you will get 23 to 30 miles per gallon!

Mitsubishi GT Dashboard

Another thing I love is that everything is right at my fingertips, when it comes to controls.  Cruise, volume, station changes,  phone calls, and even being able to adjust which mode you see on the dashboard.  If you want to see how many miles left til empty or how many average miles per gallon you are getting, just switch the mode!  The one thing I missed was being able to change out between sirius xm, the radio, etc right from the steering wheel.  I can change channels but to switch between Sirius, FM, my phone, etc, I had to do that from the 6.1 inch touch screen.

Control Center Mistubishi Car

The middle console consisted of the climate control, emergency brakes, music preferences.  It’s the comfort and entertainment center!  This does have climate control but it is for the whole car, there are no dual temp controls in this vehicle.

With electric windows, adjustable mirror, everything is pretty easy to adjust for the driver!  It does not have electric seats as my current vehicle does, that I did miss!

A few more features you might like to know which are included in the Mitsubishi Lancer GT:
* CD/MP3 head unit with 6 speakers
* Rear heater with floor ducts
* Fuse handsfree link system with USB port
* Dual front cup holders
* 12 volt accessory outlet
* Fast key entry system
* Advanced dual front airbags, front seat mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags, driver knee airbag.
* Front crumple zone
* Tire pressure monitoring system and much more

Overall, the Mitsubishi Lancer GT is a great vehicle, if you don’t have a big family. I love the sportiness of it while not actually being a sports car. It’s something I am definitely considering for my kids as they get to driving age. You can get the Mitsubishi Lancer GT featured here starting at $22,240.

What would your favorite feature be?
