Back in May, I share with you, a new app called Laura’s Journey To The Stars! It was an interactive reading app, that my daughter and I loved. Now, Laura and her star are back in a new adventure, called “Laura’s Star and The Dream-Monster!”
As in the first, app, this app is very interactive and will have younger kids having a blast as Laura, her brother, and her star go on another adventure. In Laura’s Star and The Dream-Monster!, you’ll join Laura and her little brother Tommy, on a mystical adventure as they sail into night sky in search of the dream world to find Tommy’s missing toy dog! With a little magic from Laura’s special star, the sibling duo drift off into the clouds to the City of Dreams where they ward off the dream monsters and rescue Tommy’s toy dog.
Illustrated by Klaus Baumgart, this new journey includes interactive scenes, fun sounds, and colors that make you feel as if you are right there in the dream with Laura, Tommy, and her star. As with the last app, there are three native speakers:English, German, and Mandarin Chinese. It’s a fun way to let kids hear stories in another language, and even try to learn them if they are like my daughter.
There are no in-app purchases, which makes for a happy mom. There have been far too many occurrences of “I accidentally bought…” in our apps, in the past. With this app, I can have peace of mind we aren’t going to have those accidental moments, but the kids are still going to get to have fun! With easy controls, this app is very child friendly and is suitable for kids as young as two. Social media sharing, volume and language controls, and library panel accessible via the title page’s teddy bear
As I said, my daughter (who is 9) loves this app. It’s a fun way to have a different kind of story time at night. If you are worried about it being “scary” because of their being “monsters”, don’t be worried. The journey is not scary and in fact shows that bravery is something we all have!
You can pick up Laura’s Star and the Dream-Monster! app for $2.99 on , , and . What are your favorite apps for kids??
