Holiday Hosting Tips With Accent & Main Pieces From Havertys #HolidayHosting #ad

Holidays are a busy time of the year.  We host family and friends, we have parties, it’s just very simply put….busy.  When we have people come in to stay for a day or a few nights, I don’t want to be stressing about anything.  I want to enjoy their company and make their stay as wonderful as possible.  In order to do that, I need to plan.  Because we usually host Christmas dinner I want that day to go as smooth as possible, so here are some of my tips for when you are hosting friends and family at your home.

  • Make sure there are enough seats!

I adore this Stetson sectional Havertys offers.   It’s classy, comfy, not too girly (which my husband would love), and perfect for a night of Christmas movie watching fun!  There are always some great memories made by my family when we sit and watch all the Christmas classics, why not do it comfortably.

  • Keep the finger foods available, and do it with style!

The Pipette Tray I is perfect for serving appetizers.  Leave it on the coffee table for easy access and keeping friends and family satisfied.  We love to keep chocolate chip and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies readily available during the holidays.  Just be sure to line it with wax paper first, do not sit food directly on the tray.

A few other tips to be the perfect holiday host:

  • Make ahead whatever you can.  If you are hosting a party, make any edibles you can before the day of.  It will be much less stressful for you and you don’t have to worry about heating up your home from cooking all day.
  • Start at the beginning.  Your entry way is the first insight your guests get into the holiday festivities.  Make it inviting.  My entry way goes right into my living room so I want them to feel cozy and at home.  I do my best to make sure that’s what they see and feel when they walk in.  The vibe you put out is what your guests will feel.
  • Stock up.  If there is something that you know will be a hit in the food or drink department, make sure stock up.  You can store wine, plates, and other odds and ends on something like the Blackstone Kitchen Island.  We definitely don’t want to take time away from the ones we love to do a store run!
  • ENJOY YOURSELF.  As a host/hostess, it can be easy to get caught up in making sure everyone is taken care of, but don’t get so caught up you forget to spend time with the ones you love.  Take a break from hosting to make memories.

There are so many ways to get your home ready for the Holidays and Havertys can help, be sure to use their store locator to find one near you and check out the room looks they have.  Who knows, you might just get a new living room or bedroom suite for Christmas!  Check out my pinterest board for a little more inspiration:
