Glory Days by Max Lucado
Do you ever feel like you’re in a spiritual rut or that you’re running on empty? The Israelites certainly did, but just as they did, you too can move from the wilderness to the Promised Land. In Glory Days, Max Lucado invites readers to leave the wilderness and discover a life defined by grace, refined by challenge, and aligned with a heavenly call. By studying the life of Joshua and the biblical book that bears his name, Lucado reveals God’s promises for every step and reminds readers that God still fights for them.
I have been reading Max Lucado’s “Glory Days’ and what an encouraging book it is. We all go through the valleys of life when things aren’t going as good as we hoped they would. Thankfully, our promised land is waiting for us; we just have to push through the situations and circumstances. With 16 inspiring chapter, we can be reminded to see who we are through God’s eyes.
As you read through Glory Days, you will be encouraged. Reading about Rahab, who was the bottom of the rung due to being a harlot and seeing how God used her, is such a great reminder. If he can use someone who others put no value on, He can use anyone. We all go through wilderness moments, but we have to push through them to get to our promised land. Max Lucado weaves the story of Joshua and his Jericho walls into Glory Days.
Even better than having just a book to read is Max makes sure we can dig a little deeper or enjoy a study with a small group or a church.
The questions for reflections section helps us dig into the story. At the end of the book, there is a reflection section of each chapter so you can enjoy studying in a deeper way!
You can even take it a step further and learn with those around you. He offers kits that your church groups can use to do a full study on Glory Days. What a great way to encourage one another and be accountable to get in the word!
One more thing, at the end of the book, you get a sneak peek into a new devotion hitting shelves in December 2015. God is with you Everyday is going to be a great to use during your quiet time!
I don’t know about you, but sometimes it feels like that wall is too big to get around. In Max Lucado’s Glory Days, we realize that with God’s help, moving past the wall is not hard. Sometimes we go through situations to have a testimony for when we get on the other side of that wall, but keeping our faith and trust in God ensures that we will have our Glory Days! You can pick up Glory Days at Family Christian and start moving those walls and getting into your Promised Land.
