**This post is part of a Disney adventure I was invited on. All opinions are my own…oh and aside from the first photo (which is mine), thank you to Disney for the awesome photos featured in this post**
Tonight on the Disney channel, you will get to meet some new characters who you will likely want to see more of. In Disney’s Descendants, which I had the chance to screen last month, you will meet the children of some of the most infamous villains. So, what happens when villains have kids? They are “rotten to the core” of course.
Prince Ben, son of Beast and Belle, declares that he will offer a chance at redemption to Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce) and Jay (BooBoo Stewart), the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Maleficent (Kristen Chenoweth), the Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy), Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson) and Jafar (Maz Jobrani).
Disney Descendants is a musical that has the magical touch of Kenny Ortega, in fact you can check out my Kenny Ortega interview here. As soon as the opening song started, I was drawn in. I wanted to see what would become of these “evil” kids when given the chance to be good. Would good win out or would their evil ways prevail?
Descendants has all of the villains we love to hate banned to a kingdom called the Isle of the Lost. They are aching to get back with the “good” people of the world, so they can conquer and destroy…but we all know the king isn’t going to allow the ones who caused so much trouble back. So, when his son says he wants to allow the kids of the villains attend the prep school in Auradon, he has his hesitations.
The kids arrive and start plotting to take something that would allow Maleficent to take over. As the kids plot they find themselves enjoying the “good” life. But they don’t want to let their parents down..or make them angry for fear of retaliation. Descendants is filled with music, humor, love, and all the things that make a great movie. My daughter has been watching it non-stop the last week, so it’s definitely something kids and adults alike will enjoy!
Here’s an exclusive sneak peek of Disney’s Descendants which premieres on the Disney Channel tonight! I hope you’ll watch it…because if you don’t, I have to guess it’s because you are “rotten to the core”.
Which villain kid are you most excited about seeing?
