Outlander Books Are Coming To Life In A New Series @TWC #Outlander

One of my favorite things to do is get lost in a series. It could be a book series or a television series….when a book series is made into a series I can watch that’s like an extra bonus. Sometimes I have come across amazing shows on television because of books I have read and sometimes I have been introduced to amazing book series thanks to shows and/or movies. The later exactly what is happening now!

Outlander Series 1

I recently had a chance to screen the first two episodes of Time Warner Cable’s upcoming series “Outlander” and from the first minute I was drawn in! What is it about? Well, if you’ve read the books you know, but if you haven’t here is a little summary:

Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

OUtlander Series 4

While I am not going to give spoilers away, I will say, I was so impressed with the characters, the backdrop of the series, there wasn’t one scene that didn’t draw me in thanks to the gorgeous locations. Of course the storyline is what it all boils down to, and this story line has started off splendidly! To watch this woman, live out an epic love story, which causes her to travel back in time, is just the kind of story line I love! Don’t worry guys, it’s not just a sappy love story, there is plenty of action for you too!

Outlander Series 3

Here are a few things I loved about the first two episodes:

  • The storyline. No explanation needed, it’s making me want to run pickup the books so it’s definitely great!
  • The costumes. I love both eras featured in the show. Whomever is the costuming genius behind the looks throughout these episodes, deserves to win an award.
  • The backdrops and/or locations. They are simply breathtaking!
  • The music. The music really sets the moods for the scenes, in fact I want to buy the soundtrack!
  • The cast and their acting! I don’t know if other actors would have made the same impression. To me, they were perfectly cast!

I will note, there are some graphic scenes, so this is definitely one the husband and I will have to enjoy after the kids are asleep. I can’t wait for the show to start, so I can see what happens after the first two episodes. I highly recommend checking out Outlander when it premieres on Starz August 9 at 9 PM EST/PST. You can get access to Starz and the Outlander TV series through Time Warner Cable. Don’t forget to like the Outlander Facebook page and visit the Outlander website to stay up-to-date with series news and information! Will you be watching Outlander?
