I full admit to being crazy somewhat addicted to my iPhone 5. When I don’t have it with me, it’s almost as if a body part is missing. Yes, I know I know, that’s not necessarily a good thing. However, due to this work at home career called social media, my iPhone 5 plays a big part in my life. Okay, maybe the fact I like to play games on it, has a little something to do with why I love it so much too….CANDY CRUSH SAGA lover here. Whether I am using it for calling friends and family, texting my son when he isn’t with us, or using it to update my various social media platforms, my iPhone 5 is with me 99.9999% of the time.
A few months ago, I set myself into a panic as I left church and realized a bit later I didn’t have it with me. As I reached into my, much too big, bag to fish it out I found wallets, sunglasses, receipts, but no phone. Having went to lunch after church and a trip to a local supermarket, I went into panic mode..
- “Oh my gosh where did I leave it”
- “Great, now it’s stolen”
- “Now I am going to have to pay full price for a new iPhone”
- “How am I going to get through my days without my phone”
- “If they mess up my Candy Crush streak, I am gonna be one upset gamer” Okay not really I wasn’t playing CC at that time but should I lose it now, that may be a thought.
I was really upset, yes, I fully admit it. Then I remember a little piece of saving grace, the find my iPhone app. I was able to log into my iMac and into the Find My iPhone, locate it (before the battery died), so I would at least know where to start. It pulled up the streets it was near and I was so happy to see it was left at my church (which is actually my kids school). So the next morning I was able to go right in and pick it up and reacquaint myself with my phone. I’ve kept it close ever since and always double check before I leave anywhere that I have it.
Not only is keeping my eye on my phone important but making sure it stays in pristine condition is too. My husband graciously allows me to use his upgrade if a new iPhone comes out before my upgrade is available and then he gets my hand me down phone. I don’t want to give it to him all jacked up so I do what I can to keep it safe. Most recently I have started protecting it with PureGear DualTek cases:
