I will start off by saying, I wanted to lick Edward’s beautiful glittery body like a lollipop! Oh my how beautiful Robert was and played Edward so perfectly, he just made me wish even more that Edward was a real person, I would commit my down time to finding him LOL.
As many know I absolutely loved the book and when I say loved I mean I wish I could make it real so I could live in it and have all of it happen to me! The movie was no different, I absolutely loved it and it made Edward even more irresistible than he already was.
That being said, I do suggest you go in with no comparisons in mind. Just like any other book that is made into a movie, it will not be completely the same. I learned the hard way not to have my expectations of a movie being the same as the book when I saw my first Harry Potter movie (Order of the Phoenix). It was missing so much and things I thought were key were left out and I left feeling disappointed, because I was comparing the movie to the book.
With Twilight, I went in knowing not to compare it directly to the book or I would probably be let down again. So I went in with expectations that it would not be the exact same as the book because there are some things that would need to be added and some things in the book written out in description would not be able to be translated into acting or words. I was not disappointed at all!
I loved every last minute of the movie. I loved watching Edward in all his glory. I loved the actors they picked to play the characters (Kristen Stewart as Bella is still growing on me because I should have been picked to play that part LOL ). When he came onto the screen for the first time I think I may have stopped breathing for a moment and then again when he stepped into the sun.
Peter Facinelli as Carlisle was perfect as well. Emmett, Jasper, Alice, Rosalie and Esme were accurately portrayed as well and that to me is a big thing. If the actors don’t resemble or act like the way the characters are explained in the book then it just wouldn’t be the same.
I will not give any spoilers because everyone needs to go see this movie for themselves to experience it. Reading spoilers from it will not be the same. If I had the money I would go everyday until it was no longer in theaters! So I give Twilight 5 stars and am now counting down the days until it is out on DVD as well as the release of Eclipse, New Moon (since Robert and Kristin already signed on for those) and hopefully Breaking Dawn. I get all flustered thinking about the movie and I will return at least one more time to see it in theaters.
So go, now and see Twilight, just don’t get any ideas about trying to steal MY Edward!

great review…i have mine up to http://ciarasramblingsandwhatnot.blogspot.com
Can I say this, He is my Edward, just back off. LOL!!
At the midnight show, I liked it, yesterday I loved it and today I’m taking my daughter and I will love it even more!!
I saw it last night and I loved it too. There were some parts that I would of liked to see in the movie but I went in with no expectations whatsoever and came out very very pleased! I am going to be going one more time with my husband and I will definitaly be buying this dvd. Edward did look very yummy too!!
So glad to hear that you liked it because yes, books turned into movies can be a horrible experience!
I can not afford to go see it at the movies but I will put it on my list of DVD’s to rent for when it comes out!!!
that's a great review. I think it's important not to compare movies & books. In my opinion, the books are always better but that's because I can use my imagination and in the movie, it's all laid out there for me. But I'm so excited to see this movie.
it’s truly sick how obsessed I feel with the whole Twilight thing aagin. it lasted weeks after I read the books but subsided. now it’s back with a vengence. Pattinson still isn’t “my” Edward but whatever, he’ll do in a pinch 🙂
omg! i saw the movie tonight and i wasn’t disappointed at all either! i think it pretty much followed the book, tho. and i can’t wait to see New Moon and the other 2 books as movies as well!!!!
I went last night… I loved it too! I completely agree, that it was different than the book. But that is usually the case when books are made into movies. So I wasn’t too upset with some of the differences.
It was awesome. I can’t wait to see it again. And it was so fun seeing it in the theater, excitement buzzing. Everyone cheered and clapped when the movie started and again at Edward’s 1st appearance. So much fun!
Saw it last night. Loved it!! Loved it!! Loved it!! Can not wait for the DVD and the next movies!! Yeah!!
OH TONI!! How I wish you were with Jamie and I tonight!! I would’ve loved to’ve seen your face.
I swear I got shivers when he was playing the piano!! OOOO Lollipop for sure. hehehehehe
you have given me a glimmer of hope. Yours is the first possitive review I have read!
Who’s Edward? Try again Missy!
He’s all mine!
I actually laughed out loud when he started to glitter, and my friend promptly elbowed me in my side! I knew that making an actor glitter would be a challenge.
I especially loved the scenery, I was blown away by the shots filmed in the forest and trees. For an overcast town it looked absolutely gorgeous to me. I thought Charlie was great, he made me laugh a good few times. I wish that we got more lines from Emmett, Alice, Jaspet etc. but it is extremely difficult to fit a book into a two hour movie. The only part that I would have liked to have seen done differently was the meadow scene.
I haven’t been yet…teeny boppers scarfed up all the tickets early! Thanks for the review…I was worried that I would be disappointed…hope not!
I really enjoyed the movie but the book is 100 times better. Rob Pattinson looked AWESOME. I can’t believe how different he looks in the movie and then his regular appearance in interviews. I love Rob anytime but dayum in the movie with the perfection of make-up, OMGosh I about wet myself just thinking about it. LOL
I like it stays loyal to the book but I wished they would have cut a few non-important scenes to make the crucial scenes longer. It seemed to jump from scene to scene too fast. My favorites are the baseball scene (LOVE LOVE LOVE IT) and fight scene but both of those were too short IMO….especially the fight scene.
POSSIBLE SPOILER – I’m SO hoping Stephenie will finish Edward’s POV (Midnight Sun) because I’m dying to see Edward’s reaction when he finds out Jasper and Alice lost Bella in the airport. I was SO looking forward to that in the movie but the entire scene got cut. That was probably my biggest upset.
In the books, my favs have always been Edward, Emmett and Alice but after watching the movie, I love every one of them. The actors did a FABULOUS job portraying these characters. KUDOS to them.
All in all it was a great movie and I want to see it again just so I can concentrate on the movie itself and not have my brain trying to compare. I will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD.
I saw it twice and I do feel that they got a lot right but I can’t help but still be disappointed by the fact that they just didn’t capture the Bella and Edward’s relationship the way I was hoping. There were moments (loved the prom scene were he kisses her neck and when he watches her sleep) but for the most part it seemed forced.
Here is my review for what it’s worth:

and after the second time I saw it:

OME – I am still OCD on Twilight – dressed up as Alice and went to see it 3X in the theaters already! (Wish I was as smart as you for the 1st showing at midnight!) lol – but I’m not done yet – will go a 4th time later this week – I’ve promised so many peeps I’d go with them to see it – it’s the perfect excuse to get another dose of Edward.
*sigh – with a goofy smile on my face*
Weren’t all the actors just incredible?! Loved, loved, LOVED it!
seems likely that they will come out with a Twilight sequel pretty soon, there’s a crazy lot of ticket sales at stake
