Trust God And Be Who He Has Called You To Be

I came across two quotes and really loved them, so I decided to share them.  I personally think, they speak volumes.

Sometimes it gets a little lonely because my close friends don’t live close by.  I know God has the right ones for my life.  Some will be acquaintances, some will be best friends, and some people will be brought into my life to teach me one lesson before they leave. What I have to do, is remain true to who I am and who God has called me to me.  The I just trust that God will bring the ones into my life that need to be there and accept me for who I am.

I have to live my life for God and trust that the ones who will be good and true friends to me will be brought into my life, that I will not have to change for them.  They will just have to love this God loving, sometiems silly, dancing gal. If they don’t then they are missing a good thing!

Don't Change

This next quote is sometimes harder than you would think to be.  Because doing the right thing isn’t always easy, the right thing being how I believe God would want me to do something or treat someone.

It is not always the easiest thing and people may not agree with it.  It means living my life in a way that God would be proud and say to everyone in heaven “Hey y’all, this is my daughter, you see that girl walking the earth, look what she did, I am so proud of her“.  Okay, so maybe God doesn’t say y’all but it’s the south so we will assume He does.

Sometimes it may get a little lonely, sometimes the right thing isn’t always the easiest.  In the end the people who love me for me (even if a select few) and ALWAYS doing what God would want me to, will make my life so much richer.  God will bring the people that NEED to be in it.

quote

I guess it would be easy to go out and try to make everyone else happy do what they want me to do.  I’d have a lot of friends, but that wouldn’t make me happy.  My happiness comes from God, my family, and the friends who are in and will come into my life that will love me for who I am. What good is any friendship if you change who you are or what you believe and are no longer happy?

I thank God every day for the friends he has brought into my life, the ones who are there for me and I for them.  The ones who love me for me and push me to do the right thing, to better myself, and who I can call up anytime.  Those friends are like a rare treasure God has blessed me with.  And those are the ones that will grow and flourish!

“Do something now that will make the person you’ll be tomorrow, proud to have been the person you are today” ~author unknown~

Sometimes writing these posts are not easy, they are very raw and expose the inner me.  That can be a scary thing LOL.  However, I know that this is meant for someone out there who reads now or will read my blog and I know it will minister to someone.  So, I will put myself out there and know that someone, somewhere needs to hear this.  That God will bring them here the very moment they need it.

Toni…it’s nice to see other people feel the same way as I do…however, I struggle all the time with “pleasing” people, doing what they think is “right”…and then..when I need someone…the people I thought would or should be there aren’t…and it is sad…
But instead of focusing on what I don’t have,,,,I need to focus on those people I do have….so thank you for reminding me of that.

I have my pity moments, this morning I cried for a few minutes because I though gosh I don’t have people close by (besides family whom I love to death) that really call me up, invite me out, etc. and then I stopped as God reminded me that’s okay, He brings the people I need in my life even if it is a tiny select few and they may not even live close by. I know the ones I need to be around are the ones he sends and in the end (after my self pity moments LOL) that is who I really want in my life.

Toni, You are so strong and brave, it can be lonely making the right choice but in the end it brings true happiness to us not the fleeting momentary kind!

I love them both! We moved recently away from everyone I’ve known. It’s hard sometimes, but I’m meeting many new friends!

  6. 9

Love these quotes. I sometimes struggle with pleasing others, instead of Him.

  7. 10

Love the post, and the quote. I am often worried about what others think it is nice to have a friendly reminder to just be you.

  8. 11

    Those are great quotes.

  9. 12

These are beautiful, and so true. Isn’t it hard though, but if I did this, how much easier things would be in the long run.

Great post, Toni! I teach my son this, and do my best to live it by example. But we are human, and sometimes slip. I have someone in my life that cares way too much what others will think, they don’t live their life to the fullest, imo… I need to share this post with them. 🙂
