Toni’s Tidbits: Static Hair and BlogHer 2010

Hey Y’ALL (done in my best Paula Deen accent). I have some thoughts to share with you and since I know you all missed my vlogs so much I couldn’t let you down. So without further ado here are Toni’s Tidbits (I think I finally decided to name it this so I can do them whenever I want instead of just Tuesday, brilliant I know).

So go ahead, tell me how in the world I can get static hair to quit, it was sticking to my face at work all night last night and driving me INSANE, INSANE I tell you. I can see the headline now “Famous Blogger In Asylum Because of Hair Stuck To Face”. So what are some fixes, not temporary like lotion, water those all only last a few seconds and then right back to face cling. HEEEEELLLPPPPP!!

Moving on to BlogHer 2010. Who is going? Who wants me to go (snicker)? Who else besides me is having a body gaurd? What day are you getting there? What are you wearing? Where will we eat? These are important things I need to know. Of course I guess I should get to working on Sponsors so I can actually answer these questions myself huh.

So go ahead and and spill your guts in the comments here and have a very happy Tuesday!

Hi! I'm Toni. I am a happily married, christian, momma of 3 living on Florida's sunny Gulf Coast. I am a lifestyle blogger and Seint Arist. I started blogging when my last child was born as a way to share my love of all things travel, cooking, beauty, recipes, and more. Now pull up a chair, grab a glass of sweet tea and let's get to know each other. I truly hope you enjoy getting A Daily Dose of Toni!

I want to go 😉 I can be your body guard LOL!
I live close to NYC so I’m hoping it will be easier! I, too, need to start looking for sponsors!

Here’s 3 fixes for static hair!
    1) spray your hair brush with anti-static spray (the kind you spray on clothes) and brush through your hair (I use to keep a can in my locker when I was working just for this!)
    2) rub a dryer sheet through your hair
    3) brush a little baby powder through your hair – this one doesn’t work as well for static hair as the other 2, but it’s awesome when you don’t have time to shampoo!

    Have fun at BlogHer!

Static hair- I have a small aerosol can of “Static Guard” that I keep in the bathroom. I just spray it on my hairbrush before I brush and that seems to do the trick:)

Blogher- I’m going! It will be my first conference, and I am really hoping to meet you! Your blog was one of the first mommy blogs I read after I started blogging, and one of the first I put on my blogroll as a must read. I’m totally excited for Blogher, and have been looking up bloggers archives where they give rundowns on the conference so I can try to plan ahead. In the future, I’d love a blog post from you giving us newbies tips on conferences! hint, hint:)

I’ve tried running a dryer sheet on top of my hair to reduce static. It didn’t work for me, but maybe it does for others?

  6. 6

Im going to try the dryer sheet!

    thanks,shannon

I think you should get your own MOMTV show. Call it “Toni’s Tidbits”. You’re great on camera, and very funny. I love the singing. I wasn’t planning on going to BlogHer…but I’ve been reconsidering that idea lately. I’ve never been to BlogHer, nor New York. So I might just be there. I don’t have any ideas about the static. My hair used to do that when it was longer but I have a short, short cut now so my hair does nothing but plaster itself to my scalp!

I wrap my brush with a dryer sheet when I put it away. And, hair conditioner works wonders.

I use a great product called ..(had to got get bottle) …ISOMERS luminous hair gloss and it has worked wonders for my hair. I used to try to use anti frizz serums and such for static and flyaways but they always seemed to make my hair oily looking but this totally doesn’t!! It is very light-weight and smells divine. I think I got it on HSN or QVC..one of the tv shopping networks..I know I was having a bad..no wait..horrible hair day and saw this while I was channel surfing and ordered it on a whim. So glad I did. the very next day someone at work asked me if I’d had highlights put in and then on my way home a lady at go-mart said I had wonderful hair…2 in one day can’t be coincidence huh. I’ll try and find where I found it..I know it wasn’t expensive (or I wouldn’t have bought it haha)

    Oh I want to go!
I like the idea on a post about confrence tips…and do you have any tips on finding sponsers?

I have had static hair all my life. It is a pain! I won’t be going to BlogHer, sorry.

Bounce or Snuggle dryer sheets do the trick to eliminate hair static here – Princess Nagger thinks I’m nuts when I rub her down with a dryer sheet when her hair is all flyaway! 🙂

I’m going to BlogHer! I’m registered and have a room reserved, so I guess that means I’m committed to going… 😉 Just have to figure out how to pay for the rest of it! I would love to meet you! It’ll be my first time, so a little hand-holding might be in order… 😉

Hi Toni I’m thinking about starting my own video blog
to stay in touch with the clients of my spa and salon.

Any tips on how to run a successful blog like yours?
