Toni’s Tidbits: Mardi Gras, TV Reruns and Work

Hey y’all! It’s Moi with the tidbits going on in my head. Today I am telling you all about going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras in about 2 weeks. What television reruns I watch daily and all about what annoys the crap out of me at work.

Sorry to bust the bubble of those hoping I would really emerse in the “tradition” of flashing for beads. Won’t be happening! I have a bit more class than that, it’s not my style to show boobies to anyone but the hubs (and I know he greatly appreciates this characteristic in me). I will be highlighting family friendly stuff about Mardi Gras. Keep watch for more details when I know it’s okay to share them.

Now it’s your turn.

Have you ever been to New Orleans/Mardi Gras?

What reruns do you still watch?

Is there something or maybe even someone at your work that annoys you??

    Hi Toni,

We used to live in NO on the West Bank & I’ve been to more Mardi Gras Parades than I can count. The really family-friendly ones are on the West Bank, esp. during the day. I haven’t been since ’95, but at that time you could walk right up to the floats, pick your guy, walk along with the float & flirt (no flashing required) until you got the beads you wanted. I remember that Cleopatra & Nefertari were really great. If you have kids, get a ladder seat for them.

The Downtown parades are awesome. Bacchus, Endymion, Zulu (kid-friendly), so many good ones. Only take kids to day parades down there & keep them out of the Quarter! Craziest Mardi Gras Day ever we were on a balcony on Bourbon Street. OMG. Insanity & debauchery. Lotsa fun, though. My husband just posted a little story about it on Twitter: twitter.com/raybrainard if you’re interested.

Hope you have an awesome time! We loved NOLA!

I grew up going to Mardi Gras. The parades and all of the crazy people made it very entertaining! 🙂

I don’t watch too much TV but I can always be talked into Seinfeld reruns.

I just got back from a week in NOLA. My sisters and I met there for our “Sisters Week” and we had an awesome time. Everything was gearing up for Mardi Gras (and the Saints game!). I’ll be going back for sure and taking hubby this time!

I don’t really watch TV, so no favorite reruns.

I’m retired….but I use to have a few really annoying co-workers (and some really awesome ones!)

Love NOLA, Love Mardi Gras! This will be our 8th year, sorry, I do show the girls from time to time – hubby okay with it! No one from my home town would ever expect that from me, that’s the beauty of Mardi Gras for us. Anyway, working on masters degree no time for TV, but do catch Golden Girls from time to time. Geaux Saints!
