Those are just some of the parts who make me who I am.
I have been hurt, but I have learned you can’t live your life in a mode of self-defense all the time.
I have given and been taken advantage of but learned that you can’t let that stop you from giving again.
I’ve learned being a mom means making mistakes several times a day and feeling like a failure but knowing you are loved by your kids.
I’ve learned being a wife isn’t always easy but it is always so rewarding.
I have trusted in people and had trust broken beyond repair but learned you can’t live a life without trust.
I have gotten hurt by those I care about most but you can’t let that stop you from letting yourself care again.
I have helped people who have taken advantage of me but I can’t let that stop me from helping others.
I learned that sometimes you have to reach out to those who have hurt you, and that it’s okay.
I have learned to watch for a cry for help and respond to that cry even if it’s beyond my comfort zone.
I have seen people be nice to me then turn around and do some hateful things to me. Likewise I have seen people who have been very hateful turn into some of the nicest people I know. People are always changing.
I have learned I have to listen to what my heart says is the right thing to do even if it isn’t the most popular way.
I have learned it’s okay to reach out to someone while still keeping your guard up.
I have learned my experiences can help someone else.
I have learned sometimes you have to go against the flow to do the right thing.
Life isn’t about living in the past, but moving forward and doing what is right.
Some hurts I will never move past because they are too deep, some hurts I have to move past because someone needs me.
Some friendships are for only a season and they will fade away.
Some friendships will come and stay a lifetime.
I’ve learned it’s okay to help someone you never thought you would and want them to know it’s okay.
I’ve learned strength is what is inside of you and no one can take that away.
I’ve learned real friends won’t judge you harshly for doing what you feel is right for you, even if it’s not right for them.
These are just a few things I have learned and part of what makes me Who I Am
What are some things you have learned that make you who you are??

This post rings so true. Very insightful. I have learnt that is isn’t the past that makes you but how you deal with it. I have also learnt that a dog is a mans best friend because its tail wags instead of its tongue hehe x
I love this post Toni. Very inspiring. Although you are probably much younger than me, there are so many things I learn from you. God bless. What a beautiful family picture. Another holiday pic that you can use – lol.
Toni, you are a blessing to me, you always encouraging others and always being true to yourself. That is what I like about you. You know who you are in Christ and that what makes you special. Thank you for speaking from your heart. LOVE your blog.

Aho, Toni. (It’s an old Indian term of agreement and acknowledgement.)
I think many of us could benefit by typing this out and taping it to our mirrors.
