Take an adventure through nature with Boggy Creek Airboats. That’s just what my husband and I had the chance to do while we were on our anniversary adventure. Boggy Creek Airboats invited us out for a complimentary 1/2 hour airboat ride through the Florida swamplands.
Glide through the wetlands on a beautiful Florida wildlife tour. Our airboat tours start with a leisure idle down a natural canal viewing exotic birds, turtles and the Florida alligator in their own natural environment. Then you will fly like the wind into the swamps experiencing the awesome feel of an airboat ride traveling up to 45 miles per hour. Boggy Creek Airboat Rides is the best way to experience the beautiful Central Florida Everglades.
Now, let me just start by saying…I am not a nature girl. The closest I get to nature is laying in my bathing suit on the beach while tanning and even then you may hear me complain when sand gets on me. This adventure I set up strictly with my husband in mind. I, however, was willing to sacrifice because I love my husband that much. Having heard great things about Boggy Creek Airboats I was excited to go, but not super excited about being in nature elements.
After driving out a ways (hey, swamplands aren’t going to be in the middle of a big city) we got ready to head out on our 30 minutes tour. The first thing I noted was I was glad I brought a jacket, it does get rather chilly when you are speeding along. The second thing I noticed was I became a human windshield, thankfully my mouth was closed but the bugs they were a flyin’ into my face…I can now say I know what it’s like to be a car with bugs splatting against it. *Side note: my husband did not and almost swallowed a bug, I laughed for the longest time about that** Last, I regardless of the bugs and chill, I absolutely loved the airboat ride.
We had a guide that was able to spot the wildlife before I could blink and we got to see several gators and beautiful birds. Check out some of the photos I took:
The wildlife was beautiful and it was amazing to see the alligators up close. They were super cute and I may have mentioned wanting one in passing…to which my husband rolled his eyes. The ride was quite thrilling and a few times I thought I was going to fly off the boat with the sharp turns they make. It was truly a wonderful experience. While I did decide an alligator as a pet may not be the best thing, espeically with my fear of them, I did decide to conquer that fear and hold one. How cute is he:
Don’t forget to check out their gift shop while you are there too, you may be able to take home a Gator souvenier of some sort:
If you are ever in the Kissimee/Orlando area and want a different kind of adventure, be sure to check out Boggy Creek Airboats. They offer tours every half hour (no reservation needed for those), night tours, swamp excursions, and scenic nature tours. Check out their tour page for more details. Have you ever been on an airboat ride?
**My husband and I received complimentary tickets. Opinions and experience are my own**

It looks like a lot of fun, I don’t think I could be as brave as you and cuddle a ‘gator, even if it is a baby and kinda cute!! I didn’t realize how much wildlife you get to see on these adventures!
