Ice Cream Bar

Living in Florida, summer gets hot.  While we love the weather for beach days, we do like to enjoy a cool treat during those hot months. Now, unless you are a speed eater, the chances of a cool treat melting is pretty significant, so we like to make our own ice cream bar at home!

What better way to get out of the heat for a bit with some tasty ice cream, topped with all the best toppings, of course!  I headed to my local Walmart to pick up the goodies.  We all know ice cream can be a messy situation, so in addition to the sweet supplies I picked up Wet-Nap Packettes at Walmart’s Everyday Low Price!

Ice Cream Bar Toppings

Once I got home, I set up the bar without the kids knowing and then called them all in the kitchen for our impromptu ice cream social.  I had put my camera down while I set up, I wish I had grabbed it and recorded their reactions because it truly was priceless.  Of course it lasted all of ten seconds, because once they saw the ice cream and toppings, nothing else existed.  They only had eyes for ice cream!

Scooping Ice Cream Dirty Hands

Chocolate seemed to be the flavor of choice for kids.  Then came sprinkles, chocolate chips, peanuts, marshmallows, crushed Oreos, and of course whipped cream!

WhippedCream

I, myself, went with the vanilla with chocolate chips and added some frozen strawberries and blueberries!  It was delish!  I definitely had some happy little campers!

Ice Cream Mess

Messy, but happy!  Of course where there is an ice cream bar, there is a mess!

Wet-Nap Challenge

This is inside, can you imagine if we had been outside in the summer heat.  I will never understand exactly why ice cream seems to be the messiest sweet treat, but now it may have met it’s match with Wet-Nap Hand Wipes!

Wet-Nap Cleanup challenge

Gone are the days of sticky residue and smudges after cleaning up, thanks to Wet-Nap Antibacterial Hand Wipes, clean up was a snap.  I was very unsure of exactly how many Wet-Nap wipes I would need to use.  How many do you think I had to use to clean up the ice cream mess?  You might be surprised at the answer

Looks like this summer we will get to have a lot more sticky, sweet treats, because with clean-up being so easy there is no excuse not to. Bring on the ice cream, the popsicles, the frozen yogurt and whatever else we crave to stay cool!

My kids always request ice cream buffet instead of cake on their birthdays, and then we do it a few times over the summer just for fun. So messy, but such great memories. Love the photos of your kiddos!
