Struggling To Push Through This Blogging Rut…

Blogging is no easy task, I think every blogger who is serious about it, giving their all, and working their butts off like I do can attest to that. Right now I am just in one of those blogging ruts where no matter what I do it doesn’t seem to be enough or nothing is working out, coming in and it gets discouraging. I mean like really discouraging.

You start to wonder if your email is broken, if there is something you need to change. Really the last year has been tough one for me. After I moved to Florida things seemed to kinda fall by the wayside as if where I lived had so much to do with what I could or could not do, which made no sense to me.  It’s like 90% of what was coming in stopped and it seemed to happen after I moved to Florida

My reach and readership is the same (and has even grown) since I moved from Arkansas so is it just coincidence, I am sure it is.   The last few days have just been so tough and discouraging for me. Maybe my emotions are just on a rampage and tomorrow I will look at this in a new light but today I am sad. Today I am having a hard time encouraging myself. Today I want to know what I do is appreciated. Today I want to get over the feeling of just wanting to give up. I know, I know we all go through this, heck I have even cheered those on who have felt this same way.

Maybe once Greg gets my redesign done and I have a fresh look it will spark encouragement under my tush, after all a new design can be like a breath of fresh air. Today though I am in a blogging rut and my emotions tell me to give up but my heart says to keep going. So pushing through is what I have to do but doing it alone isn’t an option, I just need the support of sweet friends and family. Sometimes that’s just the push you need.  Now I am going to turn on KLOVE and spend some time with God, I think a session with the one who has brought me through so much is just what is needed.

*Snicker, on a side note as I am getting ready to hit publish my son turns Cars on and the line I hear Doc say “Get Back Out There”.  Almost like a little nudge to keep going.

Hi! I'm Toni. I am a happily married, christian, momma of 3 living on Florida's sunny Gulf Coast. I am a lifestyle blogger and Seint Arist. I started blogging when my last child was born as a way to share my love of all things travel, cooking, beauty, recipes, and more. Now pull up a chair, grab a glass of sweet tea and let's get to know each other. I truly hope you enjoy getting A Daily Dose of Toni!

I am sorry you are feeling discouraged. You have a wonderful blog (I wish mine were as built up as yours, it’s a goal I aspire to). Take some time out for yourself and do something fun. Sometimes that can be all we need to get motivated.

  2. 2

I’m sorry your so down!! But i do know exactly how you feel. I think we all feel like that at some time or another. Especially when we look around at other blogs who seem to just be on the up and up. You have a great blog, and maybe its just the time of year!

I hope things start to look up for you!

Weird that I would happen to get this Stumble notification right now. As I read this it reminds me of how many times I’ve been on the fence. It’s tough to keep up. Once you get the hang of one thing everything else changes. The Twitter time lines change, Facebook pages and Fan Pages change too. Should we change our designs, our names, our content and do bloggers even trade badges any more? It’s hard to keep up. I’m about to make the move after 5 years and make some serious changes that are long over due. I’m scared but excited at the same time. After all it’s 5 years of content.

Florida would seem like a whole new place to introduce to your readers. Hang in there. We are still reading. 🙂

Get back out there then! I know I’m in a small rut too. I think it’s just the lack of sunshine for me. Who knows, all I can say is you’re awesome and you’ll find your mojo again!

  5. 5

I also am feeling in a rut. I wonder if the time of year has anything to do with it as so many of us are struggling with this right now? Hang in there – we’re all here for you!

A bit of spring fever for many this time of year, but we should all still give you a big cheer.
Here’s a BIG CHEER to you TONI for all you do,
I hope you keep your blog going
    and don’t say you’re through,
as I and many others still appreciate you.
    TONI, TONI, don’t be blue.

Keep writing. I think anyone who cares about their blog has been where you. I know I have, and it takes a while for me to push through. Sometimes I take a break, but it helps to keep on writing. You may not hit publish, but it’s still keeping you in the practice. Hang in there. I just discovered your blog through Stumble not long ago, but I always look forward to your posts. I believe each voice in the blogosphere is unique and so important.

I so appreciate everything you do as do so many others. I love your blog and know that you mean so much to others from what you write, do and say. I know how hard it is to get out of a rut. You are going thru some life changes in your family, those seem to be the hardest ones to come thru. I’m going thru some myself right now. Give yourself a pat on the back for all you have shared with everyone and know that God is always right here when you need him. Don’t be so hard on yourself, sunny days will be right around the corner. You are in my prayers.

  9. 9

I so enjoy your blog. Just remember that life, family, and ourselves come first. Sometimes it’s okay to not write every day. I do think it’s a bit of Spring fever, though. I know I’ve been feeling it a bit, myself. You’re in my thoughts and prayers! And, YOU are appreciated!
