Will Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee and Sam’s Club Artisan Fresh Miniature Cinnamon Rolls work well together?
I headed to Sam’s Club on a mission, to find some #DeliciousPairings in the form of Starbucks Holiday Blend and Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls. Would I be able to find what I was looking for??
I searched the store in hopes they would have a special display of the Starbucks Holiday blend but the only place I could find it was in the coffee aisle. Which is fine for me, as long as their is coffee coming home with me…and Starbucks coffee at that, I am a happy mom.
Next it was time to head to the bakery section in Sam’s Club and pick up a box of Artisan Fresh Miniature Cinnamon Rolls.
We are big fans of cinnamon rolls in our house, you can usually find a batch of them at some point, but I had never tried the Artisan Fresh brand of cinnamon rolls. With the tasty treats in my baset it was time to head home.
Once home, I had to exercise a little self control and hold off on tasting the coffee and cinnamon rolls because there was an experiment with family and friends to be had. I had my family and close friends over for dinner and to wind the night down we had coffee and dessert. I wanted to get their take on how the cinnamon rolls and coffee went together.
Once the Starbucks Holiday Blend was brewed, I had the ones who take it black sip it and share their thoughts. A few words they used to described the coffee were “bold“, “a hint of spice“, “strong“. I smelled the coffee (I don’t do black coffee) and would have to agree with their descriptions. Even after I added creamer to mine I could still taste the undertone of spice in the coffee. Nothing that was overbearing, just something that made me think “Christmas”. After the initial tasting, we each took a cinnamon roll and enjoyed a bit, following with another sip of coffee. This was the true test, because some foods ruin the taste of coffee or vice versa. Would the two compliment each other or would this be a taste fail?
I, myself, first noticed how well the two paired together, even with my creamer. The coffee really brought out the cinnamon taste in the Artisan Fresh Miniature Cinnamon Rolls. It didn’t make the cinnamon roll taster bitter and in turn the cinnamon roll seemed to tune down the coffee. The folks who went sans creamer had the same opinion saying “The coffee looses some of it’s boldness after eating the cinnamon roll but not in a way that would turn off those who prefer strong coffee“.
I, personally, was very impressed with how well they paired together. I will definitely continue pairing Starbucks Holiday Blend with the cinnamon rolls we are so often eating. If you’d like to try the Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee, take a moment to try it with a cinnamon roll or other “spiced” roll/muffin. Complimentary notes in Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee are ginger, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange, & cloves. So go ahead and try it with treats that are made with those and see how your mouth explodes in a world of #DeliciousPairings.

I don’t drink much coffee and when I do it more closely resembles a milkshake, but I do love cinnamon rolls and those look delicious.
That’s exactly the way I am LOL. It’s got to have a ton of cream. I like to taste the coffee just a wee bit.
