Seeing Dancing with the Stars In Person = AMAZING! #ABCTVEvent #DWTS

dancing-with-the-stars

I’ve been a dancer since the age of 5.  Which means, I practically live and breathe dance.  Daily you will find me dancing around my house, watching a dance television show, or taking a dance class.  When I found out, as part of the Big Hero 6/ABC TV Event, we were going to get to go see Dancing with the Stars, live and in person, I admit I squealed extremely loud.  As a huge fan of the seasoned dancers and several of the celebs this season, I just knew this was going to be a memorable experience!  Was it ever!!!

Dressed Up For Dancing With The Stars

Before heading out, I had to take some fun selfies with friends, which was so much fun, but it was totally trumped (sorry friends) when I had the chance to stand right there on the Dancing with the Stars floor.  Right by the stage.  This is the place all the dancers and their celeb partners put their abilities to the test y’all and I was there.  It was such a surreal moment for me, being the dancer lover that I am.  I may or may not have welled up with a few tears over come by emotions.

Once we walked (okay, so maybe I shimmied) across the floor, we took photos right at the judges table!  Then we headed up to the balcony where we got the prime view of the live show!

On set at Dancing With The stars

We had an eagle eye view of all the happenings.  The pre-show dancers were wonderful, as they shot promos for the upcoming 10th anniversary!  Every dancer was so talented, I was seriously in awe the entire time.  During the show, the atmosphere was electric!  Now, having never been to a live show taping before, I had no idea what to expect.  Getting a calf and arm workout was not something I expected but it surely happened.  We would stand up, clap and yell, sit down for like two seconds (okay maybe a little longer, but it only felt like 2 seconds), then do it again.  It continued this way for the entire two hours, but it was so much fun!  *Next time I am bringing flats to put on*.

Seeing the dancers and their celebrity partners from up above was great.  We could see the entire dance.  This particular night, we got to watch as they took on Dynamic Duos.  Every performance was so good, but the ones that really stuck out to me were Sadie and Mark as well as Janele and Val.  Sadie and Mark took on  Adam and Eve and the way they danced it out was awesome.  Janele and Val did Romeo and Juliet and even as I type, I get chills, it was so moving!   As we watched the show, I knew it was going to be someones last night, and I honestly felt horrible for them.  At the end, it was Michael and Emma who went home, and I admit I teared up!

Dancing With The Stars

After the taping ended, our group headed to Mixology, where we were lucky enough to get to spend the evening with most of the stars from the show!  We got to chat with Leah, Artem, Janele, Sadie, Val, Mark, Korie, Willie and so many others.  They were even so kind as to take photos with each of us.  I loved getting to know them and see the love for dance, the dancers had, as well as the commitment the stars had to this process.  It truly shows why the ones who are still in it, are still there.  Doing this is definitely not for anyone who can’t give it all they’ve got. Heck I wasn’t even dancing and this is how I was on the way back to the hotel…

Worn Out

I am so excited to see who wins, but before that happens I have to see what happens in the semi-finals, which air tonight (11/17) at 8-10 p.m. EST. Five couples remain and they will perform two routines during the plugged/unplugged episode, which means two routines to the same song! The semi-finalists include: Tommy Chong, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Sadie Robertson. In the first round of the competition, the couples will perform a Jazz, Quickstep, Samba, Paso Doble or Argentine Tango to an original or “plugged” version of their selected song. In round two of the competition, the couples will perform an Argentine Tango, Rumba, or Contemporary routine to an acoustic or “unplugged” version of that same song. Then, sadly, at the end of the night one couple will be eliminated and four will continue on to the finals!
