There are very few things less fun than being sick, but being sick and having to wait all day (or a few days) to get into see a doctor is even less fun. Now that cold and flu season is here, if one of us gets sick or has any symptoms of anything that might resemble the flu, I want to be on top of it. I don’t want to wait to see a doctor until the next day! Luckily there is an answer….
While we haven’t been hit with the flu in our home *knock on wood*, I want to make sure I can get somewhere to get treated should it happen upon us one year. Thanks to the at CVS I can walk right in, sans appointment, and get my (or my kids) symptoms checked. What if it happens while I am on vacation?? Well, that’s okay too, because The MinuteClinic has walk-in clinics located in select CVS/pharmacy stores in 28 States and DC. I definitely prefer visiting a CVS MinuteClinic to heading to the ER, those fees can become outrageous.
Another benefit of the MinuteClinic is they are open 7 days a week. Try getting into your family doctor on the weekends and even our Urgent Care (non ER) is closed on Sundays. I love knowing I can get them to the doctor any day of the week! Since they accept most insurance and other forms of payment, I am definitely going to be heading to our local MinuteClinic the next time we need to see a doctor. MinuteClinic shares visit summaries with your primary care provider (with your permission). They also provide a list of physicians in the area accepting new patients if you do not already have a primary care provider. I’d call that great patient care!
As I mentioned earlier, it is cold/flu season so keep a watch out on your symptoms. Don’t forget that MinuteClinic offers flu shots. Not sure if it is the color or the flu? Check out this fact sheet to help you determine that:
Be sure to check this on the MinuteClinic website; it has lots of great information to assist you! One last mention of another good reason to visit a MinuteClinic, it’s a great one-stop shop for cough-cold and flu needs. You can visit MinuteClinic to vaccinate, diagnosis, treat and prescribe for cough-cold and flu, and equip your house with wintertime cough-cold essentials at CVS.
That’s enough for me. Diagnose, treat, and prevent by visiting one place! I’m in! Be sure to connect with @MinuteClinic on twitter to keep up with the latest!
Have you ever visited one of the CVS MinuteClinics?

I love that there is one right down the street from where I live. This makes it so easy to get better.
I wish we had a minute clinic in our area!
The MinuteClinic is SO convenient! I don’t have a primary care doctor so I tend to just hop into one of those when I get sick.
