Review Talk: My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler

I remember back in the days of my youth, loving friendship bracelets.  The more you had the better it was because they were just so pretty.  I never really got into making them but loved getting them or buying them and giving them.  I just didn’t have the time or talent to sit and make a friendship bracelet like some of my friends did.  To bad they didn’t have this when I was growing up….

My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler is a pretty easy way to let your kiddo make some friendship bracelets for their friends.  As the name suggests it’s the traveler version of the product so you can do it at home or while in the car, which in turn means less asking “Are we there yet?”.  My daughter was thrilled we received this to review and wanted to get started right away.  So open the box we did….

Included was the bracelet maker, some pretty colored string and the instructions.  I love that they put the string in a slide out area which will make for less mess if you choose to do this on the road.  We picked our colors..eight to be exact and got to working on our bracelet.  The box says it’s for ages 6+ but my daughter who will be 7 in June would not have been able to do this by herself, heck even I had a little trouble getting started and understanding the instructions.  Once I figured it out however, we launched into making our bracelet.  Each day we have only had a little bit of time and seeing as we picked 8 colors it is taking us a bit of time.

To make the bracelet we are making you have to take the thread in the #1 spot and the thread in the #2 spot in your hands, make a 4 with #1 over #2, then pull #1 under #2 and back over itself, tighten to make a knot.  You continue doing that with each color until #1 ends up in the last slot.  It took me quite a few tries to get it right but once I got the hang of it it’s gotten much easier.  We are having fun watching it become a colorful bracelet…

We are looking forward to finishing this bracelet that follows the basic pattern and then checking out some of the other patterns they have available online.  We are eyeing the daisy, the Christmas stocking, and the paw print designs.  The My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler retails for $16.99.  Watch this summer for the My Image Maker that will retail at $34.99 where you will be able to make image bracelets, how fun with that be!

This is such a fun after school (or travel) activity to do together if you have a younger one like I do or the older ones can make friendship bracelets themselves for family and friends.  It’s a great way to make a homemade gift and the kiddo (big or small) will love that they created this!  So when you are looking into birthday/holiday gifts look into a My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler and let them express their crafty sides.
