I was carousing The Weather Channel’s facebook page when I came across this comment that really made my jaw drop:
The guy eventually deleted it after it had stretched on for quite a few comments with him trying to defend his stance when I could do nothing but shake my head. I, being a bit nosey, did decide to go to his page to see if it was public and what he said and was quite appalled to see these two statuses:
That’s great…he HOPES and thinks we will be in for it…hopes…argh.
***That’s my little tidbit in reddish…and yes I totally blacked out the colorful words he used, I do not allow profanity here LOL***
Well, that was kind of Mr. I Need To Make A Buck…the not wanting anyone to get hurt part. Unfortunately he doesn’t care if other people get hurt financially….which is what happens more often than not with hurricanes. Most of us are obviously smart enough to evacuate and avoid the physical harm, if it comes to that, so he will have that part of his prayer answered.
It really ticks me off that he wants so badly to make a buck he is praying for the misfortune of others. Wouldn’t prayers be better directed that work comes to him in some other way, that’s the way my prayers went when Brent lost his job. I prayed that Brent would find a job, but not that someone else would have to suffer (ex. lose their job so he could take their place) for him to get a job. Look into doing construction elsewhere, travel for it if it’s not good in your area, there are ways to work without having to wish bad misfortune to others.
Selfishness at it’s best folks! And that, my friends, is why Mr. Construction worker gets the award that has gathered dust lately….

Oh, my.
It’s getting kinda Darwinian out here, isn’t it? People believe they can only prosper if someone suffers…that it’s a “zero-sum” game.
I hope his eyes are opened.
Very deserving of the award.
I absolutely love his award!!! You done good girl…you done good! Hahahaha
I don’t know if there’s anything to do but shake my head…
As someone who’s life was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992, this man makes me sick.
This is so insane. I can’t believe this guy. I am glad it is not coming for me anymore, but I do not wish it on anyone. I wish it would just go away.
Um no. Not good for the economy. WTF? I’m happy the storm is a little more west of us…Hope everyone is safe and it passes over quickly.
Haha I didn’t know you gave this award but wow – he definitely deserves it.
just awful some people
Hoping for a tragedy is a tragedy in itself.
There’s a first for everything…
I will never understand some people. Maybe if he got his butt off of Facebook, he could spend time looking for a job and then he wouldn’t need to wish horrible happenings onto others.
Yah, that is odd.
Wow, I’d say he earned that award. Wouldn’t it be ironic if his home was the one that was destroyed? (not hoping…just saying…)
Wow, that’s really just horrible.
Wow.. that’s definitely not something someone should want!
Wow! Just… wow! 🙁
There are not even words to express the “wrong” in that thinking!!!!!!!!! I’ve been through 4 storms and thankfully no damage for us. I don’t own a house so I’ve been lucky. But think of all those people in New Orleans when the levy’s broke. How can anyone wish anything on anyone? I understand a ‘need’ for work but at the expense of property damage and possible lives how could anyone be so heartless!!!!!!!!
Wow, douchebag is just putting it nicely. : O
I can’t believe this!! Some people are so selfish.
WOW.. I have nothing nice to say about this person…
Yes, very deserving of your award. I’m glad we don’t get hurricanes here in Colorado – wildfires and tornadoes are enough.
What a turd! LMAO @ your douchebag award though! Can I print that out and hand off copies in real life too?
Wow, wow, wow, wow.
Wow. What a douche.
