After Retirement, I Want To See The World

Okay I hope to see the world much sooner than after my retirement, but even if I have I want to see it all over again. There are so many places I want to go see with my husband when we are done with our working years. While vacations and getaways now are amazing, I can only imagine how much more of an adventure they will be when I don’t have to come back home to work. Even though I go on vacations now, work is always in the back of my mind. When I retire I will only have to worry about getting home to do…well whatever I want in all honesty.

Here are a few places I hope to visit with my amazing husband once we hit our retirement age..

Not only do I want to see the Eiffel Tower but so much more of Paris, and France for that matter. I want to eat chocolate croissants and macaroons while overlooking the Sienne River. I want to walk through the Louvré and enjoy art that I have only read about in books.

I want to walk the streets of many Italian cities. Being half Italian and knowing my great-grandmother came to the US as a baby, making it to Italy is something I dream of. I want to see the fashion, the landmarks, and of course eat authentic Italian food.

Go back to Spain. I went years ago to Spain and it was such a beautiful place. I went to several cities, but the one I really want to go back to is Barcelona. I was there in the evening as we had an overnight layover, and just fell in love with it. I can only imagine what it is like during the day.

I have so many plans for my husband and I, when we retire, some will include trips to places he can hunt. I am sure we will have a visit to Ireland and England. In fact, we may just live in Europe for a year. To do all that, I need to make sure I am planning properly. Thanks to resources like this…

With articles like 7 Tips For People Planning To Retire In 2013 I am sure I can get a lot of knowledge on what I need to do to be ready for the adventure life brings. While I am not going to be retiring this year (well, unless I win the lottery) it never hurts to start preparing so when I am able, there is nothing holding me back from living my retirement dreams. I am taking the steps now so I can make those retirement dreams come true.

Where are some places you hope to see when you retire??

Traveling the world has always been a dream of mine. I’m slowly getting there a little bit at a time but it’s so much fun exploring different countries.

Who wouldn’t want to see the world? It’s one of the things I regret not doing before I had kids. Now when I meet childless couples, I always tell them to travel before they start a family. Now I have to wait until I’m so much older to do it.

I think so many people are not ready for retirement and it’s important to start young. I also would love to travel after retirement.

i would love to visit Rome. I’ve been to Italy, but our trip was cut short because of my desire to stay in Greece longer then planned. My son and I are considering visiting Italy next summer so fingers-crossed for Rome!

Love your list! I’ve been to Rome and Venice. That’s it. I’m hoping when the kids are older I can see the world with them since their dad has no interest. 🙂
