o.b. Share It Forward, Helping Couldn’t Be Easier.

o.b. share it forward As a woman, I take for granted the availability of feminine products. When I need them they are readily available. That’s not the case for everyone. Her’s a little information about a movement o.b. brand is doing to help:

For millions of girls, sanitary protection is a luxury item. The lack of affordable sanitary protection can have devastating lifelong consequences for adolescent girls in developing countries. Huru® International has developed a cost-effective solution to this often-overlooked crisis, called Huru® Kits . With these kits the organization aims to provide girls with the resources and knowledge they need, including sanitary protection, to complete their education and safeguard their health.

Each kit contains:

  • A drawstring bag that can be used as a backpack
  • 8 reusable sanitary pads
  • 3 pairs of underwear
  • Detergent grade soap to wash the sanitary pads with
  • A re-sealable water proof bag to store used product in
  • Educational insert on proper usage of products and Kit.
  • HIV/Aids prevention information
It’s a very simple thing to our eyes but to these girls who don’t have the same luxuries as I do, it could make a world of difference.  On mission trips I have been in areas and seen this very thing and that is what made me realize, these girls don’t have the same access or information being taught to them that I had.  This may be the only lesson some of them receive when it comes to learning about this part of life’s journey into womanhood and how to care for yourself.

The o.b. brand has set a goal to raise $25,000 for Huru International.  With this they will be able to provide 1,000 kits.  From now through November o.b. will donate $1.00 for every share they receive on facebook helping to spread the word about this initiative. Here’s how you can help:
  • Head over and like (if you haven’t already) mighty.small.movement on facebook.
  • Click the outreach tab in the left sidebar.
  • Select your state from the drop down box
  • Check the box that you have read the terms & conditions (after reading of course)
  • Click the pink “click to share” box to share on your wall
  • You’ve just helped spread the word!

    I love this program! Especially the inclusion of STD transmission/prevention information! You can never know too much! I’m going to be forwarding this to other Moms – and start buying o.b. – love it!
