You might remember the fun we had for Easter with our Peeping Bunny Cupcakes. It’s no secret I LOVE Peeps. The marshmellowy goodness is what I look forward to certain times of the year. I do admit, after the “peeps season” was over, I was always a little bummed. Now I say “I shall be bummed no more” because Peeps are available year round with the new Peeps Minis! Yes, fellow Peeps lovers, no need to wait until certain holidays to get the goodness of Peeps, we can now have fun with or just snack on Peeps, anytime we want!
My kids, like me, enjoy Peeps and now they have two new flavors to love. Sour Watermelon and Strawberry Creme! This little Peeps Minis pack a whole lot of flavor. While we enjoyed the Strawberry Creme, and used it in a fun treat (keep reading the post to see it), it was pretty much unanimous decision that the Sour Watermelon was our favorite. We love us some sour candy. I love that the Peeps Minis come in a resealable bag, so they stay fresh and are super portable….even to the movies!
Of course snacking on Peeps Minis, is only have the fun, we love to make treats that are fun to look at too. Simple creativity in the kitchen is a way to have fun with kids this summer and you can do that with Peeps Minis!
Using three or four ingredients you can have a fun treat, that kids will love eating and helping you make. I love spending quality time with my kids and since I am not a crafter we tend to cook and bake (or craft with food because if you mess up, it’s still tasty!). For our Peeps Minis Flower Surprise Treats, we used three ingredients
- Peeps Minis
- Nutella
- Mini-Chocolate Chip Cookies (we used packaged but you can make your own if you have time)
Simple spread the Nutella on the cookie as your “adhesive”, then create “flower petals” using your Peeps Minis, and voila, you come up with this fun to look at and eat craft:
Now, another way we are going to do it, to make it a tad bit healthier and really give it a flower feel, is swap out the Nutella for Peanut Butter, grab a celery stalk and some Sour Watermelon Peeps Minis. Create the flower top the same way, using peanut butter where Nutella is used. Set it higher on a plate, lay a celery stalk (filled with peanut butter of course) at the bottom of the “flower” then lay one sour watermelon peep on each side of the stalk to make the leaves on the stem! It’s fun and the kids will have a blast making their edible creation.
No matter if you are going to create a food craft or eat the Peeps Minis right out of the bag, they are the perfect size for snacking and only have 140 calories per serving. A great occasional treat to enjoy when you just want a little something sweet.

How fun! What a clever way to use peeps! 🙂 I think my boys could totally get behind this craft (and sweet snack)! 🙂
Those cards are a riot! Love peeps- especially microwaved!
That is a creative (and cute) way to eat Peeps! I have a weakness for Peeps, but I haven’t tried their new flavors yet. The Strawberry Creme sounds delicious, though!
Cute flower idea! I’m not a huge peeps fan myself but I’m sure my kids would be happy to have some. 🙂
what a tasty little treat they have
What a super cute idea! I love it.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen these until now. I’ll have to look for them the next time I shop.
Cute! That’s the kind of surprise Sweet T enjoys.
This is too cute! I am not a huge Peeps fan but I have heard that the minis are much better than the original. I will have to try them!
So cute, and the smaller size is perfect for a little snack
A day with Peeps is always a good one. Have to say I don’t remember seeing mini peeps before. Can’t wait to try them.
Oh wow, I had no idea there were minis! (Where have I been!?)
Peeps Minis sound like fun and i am liking the flavor options!
They’ll make great decorations on all kinds of things. They’re awfully cute!
Oh yay! I love Peeps and hate only being able to get them at Easter. Your flower is so cute, too!
What a great idea! These are adorable. My 5 year old daughter would love them. I like that they have minis now, since the full size is soooo much sugar. Thanks for the healthier options.
That’s a cute way to use the Peeps.
By the way, completely unrelated, but I love the watercolor look of your header. And the font you use for the “sweet, sassy, southern,” part.
My daughter was never into Peeps, but the sour watermelon flavor may be a whole other story
Those are so cute! I have to admit that even as an adult I still love Peeps. 🙂
Very cool! I had no idea they had Peeps like this! Yumm!!
I love the minis, so much fun and super cute.
