Must Have’s For Your Bookshelf

One of the things you will learn about me, if you didn’t know already, is I LOVE to read. Suspense, Christian, Teen Series (ahem Twilight), Inspirations, Fiction or Non-fiction I am usually caught with a book in my hand. I love so many different types of books. I decided I would like to start sharing some with you as I add them to my Amazon Affliate Store.

Today I want to share with you some of the christian books I have or am currently reading that I think would be some great additions to your bookshelf.

Joyce Meyer’s Battlefield of the Mind. This really helped me when I was very hard on myself after my divorce. This is great for those of us who are dealing with negative thinking and our mind is working against us.

Her follow up to the above book is Power Thoughts. AMAZING! It is a guide to help you implement christian principles and getting that negative thinking out and the positive thinking in.

Francis Chan’s Crazy Love. I am only a few pages into this and it is really sparking things in my heart. It’s all about falling in love with God, we as christians sometimes try so hard to be perfect and it’s impossible. This book is talking about a deeper relationship with God, not of our own trying but through loving him in a much deeper way.

Larry Stockstill’s The Remnant: Restoring The Call To Personal Integrity. So many things happen in the church that gives it a bad name. We are all the time hearing of the scandals. In this book, Larry talks about how we, the church, have to take back our good name. Not by saying we are going to do this and tearing down those who have made the mistakes but rather making sure our lives are that of transparency and integrity.

Last for today is Dutch Sheet’s, Intercessory Prayer and the study guide you can get to do. All about how God uses our prayers to move heaven and earth (the book tagline). Again, I am only a few pages into the study guide and book but with questions such as

  • When you pray what do you expect to happen?
  • Describe a time when you prayed and God didn’t answer the way you thought He should.  What did you learn from that experience?
  • What is the difference between strong hope and great faith?  How does each of these play a part in God’s answering prayer?

This book is definitely one that is not to be taken lightly with questions to make you think and dig deep.  It is sure to take you to a new level in prayer.  I will definitely let you know what I learned after I have finished the whole thing.

Check out my Amazon Affliate Store if you are interested in picking up any of these books. Some of them have gotten me through tough times and some have just encouraged me even more when things are going great. I truly think at least one is meant for you.

*Disclosure:  I do receive a tiny (so small unless you order a ton it will take me forever to make anything decent) percentage if you order from my amazon store.  I would implore you to do just that, because then you be blessing my reading habit.  Hey it’s better than other habits.
