Recently Moxie Media, sent a special houseguest to visit the land of Arkansas on a nationwide trip. Â Mona who is traveling all over the United States over the course of a few days (whew you know that takes a super power) made a stop in Arkansas to spend the day with our family.
When Mona arrived she immediately found a friend in my daughter.  Hijacked would be more like it.  So instead of taking Mona out that first day we talked about some of the things  my city is known for that yours isn’t (neener neener).  I told her how we are home to the Tyson Chicken World Headquarters.  Her eyes lit up and she was ready for some chicken.  I had to inform her it would not be chicken schmicken on this trip, we are home to some of the best Mexican restaraunts around here.
Next I explained to her how we are also home to the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. Â You know what that means right….football fanatics, tailgaiting and red to be seen everywhere. Â Mona just knew she had to watch the game in style and eat fan food, so what should we do but head to Wal-Mart and pick up some red and white cupcakes and Mona tried to find a Razorback shirt, unfortunately as you can see they were all a bit too big:
Yes I think we have ourselves an official Razorback fan, sorry other Mona hosters this superhero’s heart is officially with the Razorbacks now. Â As I mentioned earlier we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up some game snacks and attire, while on our trip I made sure to let Mona know that living here also meant living where the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club headquarters are. Â In a 10 Mile radius you can about 7 Wal-Mart Stores, no reason not to find great values here folks. And did you know that at Sam’s Club online you can do your shopping before 5 p.m. and it will be all ready for you to pick up the next day, tell me with screaming kids that is not the best thing ever!
While on the subject of Wal-Mart, I thought it best that Mona saw what it was like working a real job, we all can’t be superhero’s you know. Â I let her know that I was a drug pusher, err, pharmacy technician and that she would be heading to Wal-Mart to work with me the next day. Â After making her (you didn’t know I was a designer did you) work clothes we loaded up and headed to Wal-Mart:
After arriving to the store we headed in for a night of pill pushing and customer serving.  Though after  a bit I did realize that Mona was not the best employee, she didn’t speak and wanted to lay around most of the night.  I did happen to catch her in the middle of a transaction though and shot a picture just so you all can see that she did work a little.
She learned that Wal-Mart Pharmacy saves you Time and money. Â After a long night we headed home to hit the sack. Â Since our shift didn’t end until 12:30 a.m. we were exhausted the next day and after taking the boys to school in the morning we layed around with Bella and played dress up until we had to pick them up. Â Fast forward to Sunday…we all went to church that morning however I couldn’t risk Mona deciding at that moment to talk so she resided at the house playing protector and after church we returned to get her to head to one of my favorite local restaraunts, Las Palmas.
Mona wanted to drive so we let her behind the wheel and she surprisingly got us there safely, though I am sure other drivers were a little taken aback to see Mini Mona driving…after all it’s not everyday you see a superhero driving down the road they are usually flying through the sky. Â While at Las Palmas, Mona and I shared some chicken fajitas and left stuffed.
After the history lesson, working and eating Mona was all tired out and ready to retire, unfortunately my kids had other plans. Â They had a fort and Mona was going to play with them, no rest for the weary in this house. Â Trust me I know:
Eventually Mona was able to escape the hijacking. Â Not by choice of course, while repeatedly being thrown into the air she did just the right move and launched herself high enough to escape the throws of the hijackers…my kids. Â She now resides over our living room keeping watch for us and making sure we are always protected
Mona was a great addition to our house and she loved hearing all the things about our city. Â Home of the Razorbacks, Wal-Mart and Tyson along with some of the best food you will ever eat, Mona has decided to make a permanent stay here in Arkansas…well if I keep my kids away from her that is.

I just LOVED the clothes you designed for her : ) How cool are you? Awesome as can be! Good call too, I totally couldn’t imagine her being a pharmacist in her super hero costume! That might be a little much for the conservative wallmart customers : )
Have I told you lately that I love you? (And yes, you should be imagining me singing the Lionel Richie song to you right now.)
Such a fantastic post, Toni. Not only did you show Mona a good time, but you allowed us to learn a bit more about your life, which I adored. Thank you!
When I come to visit you, will you make clothes for me too? 🙂
