Keep Calm & Have Faith

Is something I am desperately trying to do.  In fact it is all that I can do.  Does anyone else have the “when it rains it pours” saga occasionally.  That would be us right now.  Yesterday we took the kids to Big Kahuna’s with our season passes for a day of escaping the much too hot house and to have some fun as a family and with friends.  All was going well until the drive home.

I hear a wheezing sound, the power steering goes out, the battery light comes on, and we have to turn the heat on (not fun in Florida heat) to keep the car from overheating.  We pull into a parking lot to access the problem and find out a belt has broken off.  So my aunt gets us another one and husband gets it on, and off we go.  Everything seems to be going alright for about a mile then there it goes again.  Same thing happens.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

So we just decide to try to make it home which we almost did until it starts to overheat again. We pull into Walmart parking lot, belt is loose and we have no idea why.  We can’t get it fixed so we drive it and literally the battery dies as we turn the corner to coast into Auto Zone.  At least it was there right!  Now we are trying to access what is wrong with the car and how we are going to afford to fix it.  Because we barely have enough once I pay our bills for food, now that the man has a job and we don’t qualify for food stamps anymore (yes we were on them when hubs didn’t have a job and I thank God for that so we could eat).  You know what though, I just have to have faith and trust God.

I figure I must be doing something right in my walk with God because I am getting attacked in so many areas.  We don’t have AC this summer in our house (we have window units that make two rooms bearable) we thought it was going to be an easy fix and just add freon or whatever it is, come to find out the way it is wired is a fire hazard and the unit is crap so it needs to be completely replaces.  We still have no oven.  My kids are acting worse than they ever have (or at least two of them are).  We have very little money for food (thank goodness ramen noodles and hotdogs are a cheap dinner LOL).  And the newest in the always revolving door of  this saga, our van dilemma.

I have always believed when you are trusting God and walking on the path he wants you to walk on, you are going to be attacked. Satan, isn’t going to attack someone who is complacent, why would he need to.  I also know that I have to trust God to bring me through the storm and have faith my needs will be met, whether it’s getting the finances to fix the car, AC, eat, or whatever  or just blessing me with whatever my family’s needs are.

Only God knows the outcome of every situation.  All I can do is control how I react, trust in Him and keep moving forward even it I have to use all my might to take that next step.  There are times I just want to throw my hands up, scream and just give up but I have blessings waiting for me and to get them I have to push through whatever comes my way. So, forward I will go and trust God to work it all out.  And I fully intend on coming back here with a testimony on how all my needs are met!  How about you??

That is all we can do Keep calm and have Faith. As my husband and I took that step of faith in opening a church, we have been attack since day one, from our kids getting sick to our finances. The enemy has tried, and I said tried to bring discouragement to our lives but I KNOW THAT MY GOD IS A GOD OF IMPOSSIBILITIES. FOR NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HIM. WE just have to keep calm and have faith. Thank you Toni, for all the encouraging words you have brought to me in this times of trials. Blessings, Ana

Trying to apply the very same disciplines of trust and patience in my own life right now. My belief in His power and purpose is certain….His confidence in my strength and grace I question. 🙂 Thanks for sharing! He truly is always faithful!
