Today’s giggle comes courtesy of a Mr. Michael Austin who sent the following email:
Hello, How’re you doing this morning, I know this might be a surprise to you but am sorry to reach out to you in this manner and I apologize for not informing you about my urgent trip to Scotland for a Seminar and a Project.
Everything was fine until I got robbed on my way back to the hotel and I lost my wallet, mobile phone and some valuables during this incident. I had to block my account and bank cards immediately the incident happened. I am facing a hard time here because I have no money on me to clear Hotel bills and some expenses. I’m sending you this message to inform you that am stranded at the moment and need your help with a loan of 1620 British Pounds to clear up the bills and make arrangements to get back home.
Am sorry for the inconvenience this message might cause you but please understand that am in a very bad situation right now and really need you to help me out, I will be able to refund the money immediately I get back home and be assured that this isn’t some hoax or a scam message. Please let me know if you can help me with the amount as soon as you get this message.
Let me get right on that for you Mr. Austin.
These email scams always get me. Then I get to wondering how many people actually fall for them. I might have taken a second look had it been from a person I actually know. However, everyone I know right now is in the USA and unless they picked up some Harry Potter powers to apparate to England they were still right here in the good ole’ US of A.
Maybe I should tell him my oven broke and would really appreciate his help in the finance department to replace it. Wonder if he’ll bite? Don’t people have anything better to do?!

I hate these! I really never thought that people fall for them – but you’re right! There’s even a Dateline on this! One of the women on the show gave over $100,000 through a Nigerian money scam! Unbelievable!
I always read them for a great laugh. I really do feel bad for those who fall for these types of emails. The wording is so hilarious. I’ve won like 100 lotteries.
Omgosh he emails you too and I thought I was the only one Gosh he’s desperate
