Fun Summer Treats With Nestle Family

I get the Nestle Family newsletter in my inbox quite often and am impressed with some of the goodies they share.  I don’t post them here often enough but the two treats I just oogled with my eyes I couldn’t pass up.  Both of these are fun and I bet yummy treats you could make this summer so you kids can join in on the fun.  Both of them make me think summer fun!

First up is the Chocolate Mudslide Frozen Pie, tell me this does not look scrumptious!

Are you not dying!  Well I shall keep you in suspense no more, here’s how you make this divine piece o’ heaven:

Ingredients

Directions

MELT 1 cup morsels in small, heavy-duty saucepan over lowest possible heat. When morsels begin to melt, remove from heat; stir. Return to heat for a few seconds at a time, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat; cool for 10 minutes.COMBINE coffee granules and water in medium bowl. Add sour cream, granulated sugar and vanilla extract; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in melted chocolate until smooth. Spread into crust; refrigerate.

BEAT cream, powdered sugar and cocoa in small mixer bowl until stiff peaks form. Spread or pipe over chocolate layer. Sprinkle with mini morsels. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm.

Next up is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pretzels.  This is one the kids will definitely want to join in on I am sure.

You know the kids will have a blast making and decorating these!

Ingredients

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F.CRUMBLE dough into medium bowl. Add flour; mix until combined. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a 12-inch rope on lightly floured surface. To form pretzels, make a U-shape with the rope. Holding the ends of the rope, cross over and press onto the bottom of the U and place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. While hot, reshape holes in centers of pretzels with knife. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

MICROWAVE morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag on HIGH (100%) power for 30 seconds; knead. Microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, kneading until smooth. Cut tiny corner from each bag. Squeeze chocolate over pretzels; spread with knife. Top chocolate with sprinkles. Allow to set. Store in airtight container.

So there are some fun and pretty easy recipes to enjoy during the rest of your summer vacations.  Try them and tell me how they turned out…or better yet show me and take some pictures!
