Coming this Saturday (4/16/2011) on Fox at 8:00 p.m. (eastern time) is the newest Walmart and P&G family movie night. The movie, Truth Be Told, is one I think all families could sit and watch together. As part of a campaign with Mom Central I had the chance to screen this movie before it’s public release. I have to say it is definitely one my family and I will be sitting down to watch this weekend.
The movie stars Candance Cameron Burke who I am sure like me, you all remember as DJ from Full House (I still watch that every morning), David James Elliott and Ronny Cox. A synopsis of the movie:
When leading marriage counselor Annie Morgan (Candace Cameron Bure) is offered an opportunity to host a relationship talk show, she jumps at the chance. But fearful that being single might ruin her big break, she conspires with an old college friend and recent widower, Mark Crane (David James Elliott), to pose as a married couple with kids. Their story starts to unravel when Annie and Mark join her eccentric soon-to-be boss (Ronny Cox) for a weekend at his ranch in New Mexico. Comical misunderstandings mark the event as Annie struggles to keep up the ruse, finding herself emotionally invested and conflicted by her own conscience. Will she confess the truth about her marital status and her feelings for Mark… and will the truth set them free?
Here’s a trailer of the movie so you can get a little sneak peek yourself:
One of the things I am teaching my kids and strive to live by is always being honest. Lying gets you nowhere and can end up hurting so many people in the end. Honesty is always the best policy and we see during the movie just how many people it can hurt to lie. To me this movie is a great teaching tool for parents to show children that even adults make mistakes and why we always need to be honest with others and ourselves. It’s tempting to lie if it will help you out somehow but is it worth it if you are compromising your integrity and giving people a reason not to trust you later? That’s what I hope my kids take from the movie when we watch it this weekend.
Head over to the Truth be Told movie site and read more about the cast, the mission of family movie night and more. Also check out Family Movie Night on facebook to keep up with current going ons and they have a sweepstakes going on through April to win an awesome prize. Go check it out.
Don’t forget to clear your calendars for this Saturday and spend some family time watching a movie that teaches a great lesson we are never to young or old to live by!
“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of P&G and received a movie kit to facilitate my review and a gift code to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
