There are talks of remaking Dirty Dancing and it’s an abomination I tell you! Yes, I think Kenny Ortega the choreographer would make it amazing BUT you just can’t have another Baby (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). Like the Fame remake, I am quite sure it would not be anywhere as good as the original. Footloose, coming soon, I can’t comment on but you can’t have another Kevin Bacon.
Some originals are the best and a remake will only go down hill. Some of the names thrown out for Johnny have been Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Lautener, who all are quite fun to look at but they are no Patrick Swayze. I just think this remake is one that should not happen because no one can ever be the original Baby & Johnny.
What are your thoughts on a Dirty Dancing remake, good or bad idea? Is the Dirty Dancing remake destined for disaster or do you think there is any way it will be as good as the original?

Noooooooooooooo! I don’t want to see a remake of this either. I loved that movie and just can’t imagine anyone else as those characters…and I don’t want to.
UGH! I can’t stand when people try to improve upon perfection! Why would you remake something that was absolutely amazing the first time around!?
