I bet you didn’t know 1 in 4 Americans experience bladder leakage! With it being much more common than we think, you would think people would be much more comfortable discussing the topic. Unfortunately, so many people are embarrassed about it, so no one talks about it, but Depend is hoping to change that! They are bringing awareness to issues that shouldn’t be so taboo with their “Drop Your Pants for Underwareness” movement!
Since I’ve had kids, I think my bladder has shrunk to the size of a pea (pun totally intended). Which means if I am not near a bathroom when the urge hits, it could turn into an issue. It hasn’t yet, but as I age I think it’s getting harder to hold it and I want to know I will have something there should I need to use it. Bladder Leaks can happen from sneezing, laughing too hard, coughing at the wrong time, or just not having a bathroom when the urge hits. If you are dealing with leaks, try these tips to help.
- Kegels! I think this is really what has helped me. Ladies do those kegels. They will help you build your bladder muscle (yes you even have to work out your bladder muscles).
- Limit that caffeine! It’s suggested to stick to less than 100mg of caffeine to help with symptoms!
- GO! Yes, that means when you first feel the urge, head to the bathroom. Don’t wait, keeping your bladder empty will keep the chances of a leak happening to a minimum!
- Use Protection! You may take all the steps (and more) listed above and still have to deal with a sudden urge to go, that’s okay! Depend® has got your back (or bladder)! They provide a variety of amazingly, discreet products to help people enjoy their freedom and day to day life, without having to worry about embarrassing accidents.
- The Depend Real Fit for Men and Silhouette for Women briefs, look, fit and feel like real underwear and feature a cloth-like fabric for a sleek, ultra-smooth fit.
- Depend Underwear with Fit-Flex protection features more Lycra stands for a smooth and comfortable close-to-the-body fit
