Day 19: Talents & Hobbies

Welcome, Welcome!  Today we are showcasing our talents and hobbies on the “30 Days About Me” series for Day 19.  So jumping right in one of the things I think I am talented in is:

pointe shoesNo not coloring, though I have to say I am pretty talented in that as well.  Dance, is a talent of mine.  I have had a love for dance since I was itty bitty.  I started taking lessons when I was 5 and for almost 15 years I lived and breathed dance.  I took tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, can-can, & acrobatics.  I finally hung up my dancing shoes after dancing 4 months pregnant for my final recital.

Now I am the worship dance team leader at my church so I get to use that gift to bring glory to Him.  Obviously I am no where near as flexible as I used to be but I still dance with all of my being.  A day in my house most always consists of turning on a song and putting moves to it, not for anyone just for me.  Dance is a way to express my thoughts and emotions when they don’t want to seem to come out any other way.  Dance is definitely a huge part of my life and I can be moved to tears through music and dance.

As far as hobbies go, I love to paint, I am not good at it.  In fact my paintings could pass for a child having done it.  I am not painting in  hopes of having something hanging in the Luvre or anything but rather it’s a form of therapy almost.  More often than not it’s sweet time spent with my daughter who is going to be talented in so many areas.  This girl loves all things art (coloring, painting, singing, dance) and I see a bright future for her.

This definitely isn’t a long post but when I saw the title I knew exactly what would be my talent and what I would list as a hobby.  I have many more hobbies but that is the most current one that takes up the time.  Link up your Day 19 posts below and if you aren’t a blogger leave a comment sharing what your talents & hobbies are so I can get to know you!

Hi! I'm Toni. I am a happily married, christian, momma of 3 living on Florida's sunny Gulf Coast. I am a lifestyle blogger and Seint Arist. I started blogging when my last child was born as a way to share my love of all things travel, cooking, beauty, recipes, and more. Now pull up a chair, grab a glass of sweet tea and let's get to know each other. I truly hope you enjoy getting A Daily Dose of Toni!

Do you think you’ll ever put on your dancing shoes again? Dancing is so beautiful, especially when performed by someone who is trained!

I would love to retrain my feet in point shoes and make some dances. I adore dancing so yes I absolutely think I will. I still dance and use it but would love to incorporate pointe into what I do now 🙂

  2. 3

I was never a dancer- would have LOVED to be…

And I confess when you said you like to paint, I do too, but I am SO not good at it.

    Maybe some pottery instead….

  3. 5

Awe. I wanna see you dance one day! 🙂

Yes, you shall come visit me and come to my church and watch me get lost in worship. Actually I shall put a video on facebook just for you 🙂

  4. 7

I remember seeing you at Margie Short dance recitals Toni. You were amazing back then so I can’t imagine how much better the Lord has shaped this skill. Especially when you dance for him!

AWWW Joy you are too kind and yes the Lord takes you to a whole new level when you use your talents for Him 🙂

  5. 9

I LOVE that picture! You knew I would love it – so bright and colourful! 🙂 I wish I could dance, I took up salsa classes once and absolutely loved it. xxx

It was posted just for you ;). Dancing is my life even if I don’t do it near as much as when I was growing up 🙂

  6. 11

My 5 yr old loves to dance and I was thinking it was too early to get her into it. But now I see it’s not! Thanks for sharing!!

  7. 13

There is nothing cooler than being in the moment and just dancing. I have on several occassions swept my wife off her feet and danced around the house sometimes without any music at all.

  8. 15

How cool! I always wanted to take dance, but it wasn’t in the cards. 🙁 I did however, win a couple of amateur dance contests.

  9. 17

My friend’s mom paints and she always goes on and on about her “low talent” level – which is not the reason you paint – its a release, right? Anyway, she always jokes that she’s a very good painter, in abstract art, though. Haha!
