Today’s Inspiration is a quote I came upon while reading a book. The book says it came from The Oprah Magazine.
“Gratitude comes easily when our lives are in order-when bills are paid, the children are behaving, and our health is good. But our challenges are what bring the chance for transformation. And it is during our deepest pain that we can be most grateful, because we know our hardship will deliver a lesson that redefines our character. As you practice gratitude, give thanks not only for what you have, but also what you’ve escaped. when difficulties arise, ask yourself “What is the lesson for me in this?” And when you give thanks in the midst of your trial, know that your becoming your finest”
What an absolutely beautiful quote that came along just at the perfect time in my life. I hope that quote can help you to see that even though we are not gauranteed life will always be pleasant that it really shows who you are and what type character you have if you can be thankful even through the hardest and most painful times of your life. I have been doing that exact thing the past week or so, it seemed like life around me was crumbling due to a situation that arose. However I was able to sit back while it seemed my world was collapsing and still be able to give thanks for everything wonderful in my life, my family , my friends who have supported me and for just living and being able to make it through the day.
So I urge you to sit back and look around and give thanks for the many wonderful things in your life and know that no matter how bad it seems if you just have faith, all will turn out okay. God too will give you strength and he will avenge those who plot against you! This is also a chapter of Psalms I have been reading the past few days…
Psalm 57
1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,
for in you my soul takes refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who fulfills {his purpose} for me.
3 He sends from heaven and saves me,
rebuking those who hotly pursue me;
Selah
God sends his love and his faithfulness.
4 I am in the midst of lions;
I lie among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
6 They spread a net for my feet—
I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
but they have fallen into it themselves.
Selah
7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
What a powerful chapter. It made me realized that no matter who comes after you, how they try to tear you down, even if it is something that seems bigger than Me, I can stand because I have God to protect me. Having faith in Him is all I need to make it through the trials of my life.
Well my daily dose of inspiration went off on a bit of a sharing of my soul moments didn’t it. Oh well I hope that too has inspired even one person!!

If it weren’t for the promises of verses like that I too don’t know how I would have gotten through my life lately….thank you for reminding me that I have been delivered from the pit before and God’s hand is always there to get me out again!
