Climb Works Allowed Me To Soar #Travel

Climb Works was one of the many amazing events I had the chance to be a part of during Brandcation.   Ziplining through the Smokey Mountains was an experience like none other.  Before we were to head over to the weather started to get cold and rainy.  I fully admit I was not a happy camper to be heading to do outdoor adventure stuff  in gross weather.  Nature and I barely mix on a good day, but nature when she’s bringing out the cold and wet is essentially my eneymy.  So I pouted…but I went…AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!  Check out the big smiles I had…

Climb Works

I had THE BEST time of my life when I was at Climb Works.  From the minute I walked in I got excited, there was just something about the atmosphere.  I, the non-nature lover and all, was getting ready to go up into the mountains and zip line!  Zipping through the mountains, who on earth would have thought I would ever be one to do that, but I could not be happier that I went.  The staff at Climb Works are just the happiest people, you can’t help but smile.  So welcoming and friendly it just makes you want to have a good time!  First thing we had to get all harnessed up and sign our forms, but once that was done it was time to head up into the mountains.

We were driven (by professionals mind you) up, up, and up some more into the mountains where we depart and head for the 1st of 9 zips.  We said goodbye to Skyler (the professional I just mentioned) and headed to huddle with Zach and Seth (the pusher and the catcher).  When we got off the mountain cars, we headed to a gazebo for instructions.

This is where  I learned STARFISH has a whole different meaning.  I live on the coast so I know all about starfish, however this starfish is to save your life.  Okay that’s a little dramatic, but it helps you slow down so you don’t crash into your catcher…well I guess if you can do it right.  I learned the move standing and could never quite get it while in the air.  My body didn’t want to do what my brain was telling me, thank goodness for a great catcher.

We headed up to the first platform and went through the “bunny slope” zips.  I was in awe going through the trees and just taking everything in, cold and rainy it was still simply breathtaking.  After the first 3 it was time for the black diamond of lines so we did it.  Zip after Zip, the view and the company did not get old.  Each zip (the longest being 1200 feet) was so much fun and exhilarating.  And on the next to last one we got to do a few tricks…I’ll be a professional zipper before you know it.  Check out my video of the adventure:

Our team consisted of the two guides, myself, Mellisa, Candace, Paula, and four gentlemen from Tennesse.  If you could die from laughing this trip could have ended me up in the hospital.  I have not laughed as hard as I did during our adventure in a long time.  Like, I thought I was going to have an accident in my big girl pants, kind of laughing.  I can not say enough good things about the Climb Works company, the team they have, and the adventure you experience when you go zipping with them.  Go today if you are nearby…or plan a trip to the Gatlinburg, TN area so you can go.  This is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on.

Speaking of zipping, if you aren’t scared of the dark, for a limited time they have night zipping!  How cool would that be…well unless you start hearing bears, then the coolness factor goes down and it may turn into fear factor.  Get more information on their limited time night zipping here.

**Thank you to Climb Works for this adventure.  Event was covered as part of the Brandcation experience.  All opinions are my own.**
