Growing up one of my favorite memories were the times my family and I headed to Chuck E. Cheese’s. There was just something appealing about the restaurant, the games, the food, and the characters. Recently, I was invited to check out our local Chuck E. Cheese’s location in Pensacola, Florida because they wanted to show us the new look the received after partnering Tesser, a San Francisco based design firm. So, I called in the troops AKA my little twin nephews (along with their mom and dad) in tow and we headed to Chuck E. Cheese’s for some family fun!
We were excited to introduce the boys to Chuck E. Cheese’s for the first time ever. The minute we arrived I noticed the modern look. While I am used to the old dark colors of red, brown, yellow, and orange, I absolutely adored the new color scheme. It was a lot more bright and fun, which I believe will greatly appeal to kids and adults alike. The first thing I noticed was of course the game area. Chuck E. Cheese’s has an array of games to keep everyone from the youngest to the oldest entertained. Lots of new games to enjoy, but don’t worry the classics, like skeeball are there too! Check out the twins having some fun playing games with mom and dad
I love the new ‘tap to play’ game pass system. Gone are the days of toting around a bag full of tokens, now you can load the amount of tokens you want directly onto a plastic card or one of their super cool play bands (see in our promo package below). With the cards you have the option of adding tokens or, thanks to the new “All You Can Play” option, time. Simply get a card or band and load whatever you would like to onto it and let the kids (or adults) have a blast. The more time/tokens the more tickets. What’s really awesome about the “All You Can Play” option, is it starts at just $9.00 (for 30 minutes). Once you set the time limit, when they scan the pass the first time, the time starts counting down. However, if you need a break to eat their delish pizza, you can go and pause your pass, up to twice, so your time isn’t being used while you are eating or taking part in one of the live shows!
The new and updated party area look at Chuck E. Cheese’s is open and airy with fun bright colors.
The birthday zone features varied seating options for larger parties, with party sections designated by characters in Chuck E.’s band. Each character has a silhouette of each character with their biography (see above photo).
The one thing you will notice is missing (at least from our local Pensacola location) is the stage that the characters used to do shows on, but never fear there is still plenty of music fun and the interactive dance floor gets kids moving! In fact, they have an hourly live show along with the birthday party show!
Of course, it’s not all fun and games, you know as well as I do that the yummiest part of visiting Chuck E. Cheese’s is the pizza. Their pizza is made from scratch daily and the new look features open kitchens so little (or big) eyes can see the pizza being made. In addition, they offer a lunch buffet! For only $7.99 (at the Pensacola location) Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can get unlimited servings of pizza, salad, and drinks. That’s cheaper than some fast food restaurants “value” meals. That’s something to be excited about!
Overall, I am very impressed with the new and updated Chuck E. Cheese’s and look forward to going there again with my older kids who love to play arcade games and eat pizza. This is a great place to enjoy a lunch with your family or throw that next birthday party! For more information on Chuck E. Cheese’s and all they have to offer, be sure to visit their website, facebook, twitter, and instagram! Now go off and enjoy the place where a kid (or an adult) can be a kid!
