Did you know September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage month? Why not celebrate it with some festive products from IMUSA and McCormick? I received a package to assist my family in having a tasty meal to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.
In our house, it’s not unusual for us to have a latin inspired dinner once a week. There is just something about the flavors of dishes like Arroz Con Pollo, Fiesta Rice, or the simple, yet extremely tasty, taco nights (my kids favorites). This time we were able to use some fun products from McCormick and IMUSA to add a little extra flavor.
Using McCormick Taco Seasoning we were able to get a perfectly season meat to eat on our tacos, with lots of toppings. My kids aren’t extremely adventurous, it’s usually meat, cheese, and sauce for them. However, I, am a different story. I like the norm (meat, cheese, sour cream, salsa) but I love to add rice, black beans, and fresh guacamole to my taco. It like a party in my mouth, a meal in a shell. Today, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, I am going to share my 3 ingredient quick guacamole, that’s perfect for a quick snack or taco topping.
3 Ingredient Guacamole
Ingredients
- 1-2 Avocados
- 1/2 Lemon
- Salt
Instructions
- Remove the seed and skin from the avocado and place in the Granite Molcajete from IMUSA
- Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the avocado, then mash in the mortar with the pestel
- Salt to taste and serve
It’s so simple and a perfect snack with chips or taco topping. Sometimes I add cajun seasoning for spice. I do, also, make a guacamole with onions, garlic, and lots of other goodies but this recipe is great for when you are in a hurry. While this was more of a single serving bath, the Granite Molcajete from IMUSA is perfect for party size dip!
WIN IT:
One reader will win a Cuban party package courtesy of IMUSA and McCormick Spicesto help them have the perfect dinner to celebrate Hispanic Heritage any time of the year. Included in the prize pack will be IMUSA Wood Mortar and Pestle, Caldero and Tostonera, & McCormick’s Black Pepper, Garlic Salt, Curry Powder, Paprika, Cinnamon, Oregano, Black Peppercorn Grinder, Chicken Bag ‘n Season, and Black Beans & Rice Mix!
