Okay this seriously gave me the giggles. Â “Santa” brought a Cabbage Patch Pop N Style to my daughter for Christmas and it is absolutely the cutest doll. Â What it come with is hair pieces you can take in and out. Â It of course has a head full of hair as well. Â They really are adorable. Â See…
Essentially you can change up the hairstyles by adding the clip in pieces. Â I am a big fan of Cabbage Patch dolls and have been for a long time. Â I remember my first one of them when I was small. Â I still to this day associate the baby powder smell with a Cabbage Patch Doll. Â My daughter became a big baby doll fan herself starting last Christmas so she share’s my love for Cabbage Patch, she has six of her own. Â Including her very own Pop N Style that she got this year.
At the store the doll was absolutely adorable in the package and just as cute out…until we removed the pop n style extensions to trade them out with the other ones. Â That’s when we went back about 25-30 years….
Oh MY GOSH it’s Shambo from Survivor (really young and  with blonde hair), if you don’t know who I am talking about you are obviously not part of the Survivor “in” crowd.  It’s a MULLET!!!!!! My children’s poor eyes have been scarred for life.  I tried so hard to keep this hairstyle a secret from them, no one should be put the that torture and now Cabbage Patch has ruined their innocence.  Oh well I guess innocence lost this way is MUCH better than others…Just Sayin’
While I will admit the doll’s face is precious (Mullet or not) she definitely looks better with her other hair pieces in. Â Well maybe not the one that looks like a rat tail if you stick it in the center and back. Â Can you imagine a double fashion faux pas. Â Rat tail and a mullet. Â I just don’t think my heart can take it. Â Oh well I still errr my daughter still likes playing with her.
This is my plea to Cabbage Patch, please no more Mullet hairstyles on your dolls, it’s too detremental to children, can you imagine if that becomes popular again.  Lord Help Us ALL.  But I do  love your dolls they are super cute and usually pretty stylish, so keep them coming for the next 30 years so my grand children can have them too.

lol, I wonder if they all have mullets or if you just got super lucky. I can still remember my mom’s 80’s mullet–spiked in front and permed in back. It’s one more reason for my hair to stay in a ponytail!

Too funny! I remember the original Cabbage Patch Doll craze in 1983 I believe. My niece was 7 and my nephew 5. My sister worked in a department store that sold them, and people were crazy trying to get them. She of course had no problem getting them for her kids! I had one too, (I bought her in my 20s) she was bald and had green eyes. Not sure what I did with her!
I think that is when I got my first one myself 🙂 I was 4 that year. I always loved babies. Isn’t it funny how the crazes are…like now it’s the zhu zhu pets LOL. Wonder what will be next
