Hey everyone, it’s yours truly Teacher Toni, with this installment of your Blogtiquette Lesson. All in good fun of course, I get bored easily so I thought it’s time for a life blog lesson. Growing up is hard to do but sometimes when that man or woman reaches late 20’s early 30’s I feel like some revert back to childhood and brattiness so let’s not. Let’s all grow up and BE NICE quit making fun of people and just be civil.
I think it’s important to support everyone in the blog world or at least be civil and respectful.  Lately  I have made new friends, reconnected with older ones, and kept the ones that are current strong.  I love that there are so many people out there willing to jump in and help you answering questions, giving advice and promoting posts. That’s what blogging and community is about not tearing each other down and making fun of people or having a whole blog dedicated to bashing another blogger (so tacky IMHO). Grow up and ignore someone if you don’t like them..of course it’s only your time your wasting and the moments you spend making fun of someone instead of making a difference are moments you can’t get back, and that my friends only hurts you.
I know my blogtiquette lessons are tongue in cheek and that’s they way they are meant to be. Making a serious point while being light hearted about it. Â And today’s point is: Â Thou Shalt Grow Up (and support each other)
So now that we have gotten that we all need to be grown ups out of the way, Â I would love to hear about someone or more than one person who has been a great support to you in the blog world? If I were a new blogger looking to someone to inspire me who would you suggest, let’s lift up instead of make fun or bash. So leave your answer in the comments, I want to know who inspires you!

JACKHOLE-LMAOOO! Love it when you do silly accents on your blog!! You are always a breath of fresh air for me! SMOOCHES!
Smooches right back my friend. I try to be a breathe of fresh air but sometimes it’s a smell of roses instead 🙂
LOL! So true! So many peeps are concerned with bashing others or putting ppl in the middle of a squabble that they forget why we’re all here – SOCIAL MEDIA – a medium for which to be social, not catty. 🙂

LOVE THIS! So true. Such a simple concept in reality, but so hard for some to understand.
While a few “jackholes” can ruin the fun, I’ve found that more people are super nice and supportive. When I started to think about who I could put down here that is a huge supporter (like my bra), I came up with sooo many names.
@keepitclassyjen has definitely been one of my biggest supporters. She always makes me think. Won’t take “I don’t know” as an answer. I think of her as the Jillian of blogging.

THankfully the “jackholes” are few and far between lately but one is still one too many 🙂 I heart Jen she is awesomer than awesome!
Awwww thanks Michele…are we going to have a huge lovefest here??
Yes I vote for LOVEFEST those are funner (i know that’s not a word) than drama and meanies 🙂
Great post. I’ve been lucky to not run across a whole lot of nastiness in the blogworld and I make a point of not being nasty to others. There are some blogs and/or posts that I don’t care for, usually because they are laced with profanity or just plain gross (not a big fan of hearing about people’s digestive habits and the like), but I figure it’s their blog and they have the right to post whatever they like, just as I have the right to stop reading their blog if it offends me. I will post a dissenting opinion from time to time, but I try to keep a positive and respectful tone and I always post under my own name. I think people who don’t are definitely jackholes!
As for who has been the most help to me when I was first starting out, it would have to be the SITS girls (of course), Kellan from On the Upside – she used to comment on my blog nearly every day, and Mammarazzi from Dandilion Wishes. They are all great people who always post good things on their blogs.
Love your post. I like going to nice places and meeting nice people, but some blogs are scary places…everyone is soooo mean. You ladies are alright in my book! Keep up the positive posting.
I’ve got to know, how on earth did you keep the accent up that long?
Um, yeah sides suck. 😉

That was so funny! And my almost 3 yr old liked it too.
Obviously my sister Miranda at http://keeperofthecheerios.com/ has been the most help while I get my blog going. She set the whole thing up, answers all my millions of questions, and offers good advice. Like “Be nice, and don’t use potty words!” LOL

Bravo Toni! In blog life just like real life, I never really understood why if someone really has an issue with someone else, why don’t they just walk away, and not give the person another thought? I’m not one for confrontation, so if I don’t agree with or “get” someone, I just move on. Way too many AWESOME people in the world to waste my time on those who are NOT!
I have so many who have touched me in different ways, since this is a comment and not a blog post I share just the first one that came to mind this morning!
Rebekkah at Life with Kaishon – An amazing photographer of faces, here kindness and genuineness come through in her writing and her photos.

I think my blog is overall positive…but I did complain when I received bad service with movers earlier this year! My friends Betsy and Maria are my great blog supporters – I know they are reading and commmenting!

Very good advice: let’s be civil with our fellow bloggers. I believe it’s hard enough to establish cyberspace connections with people we are likiely never to meet in person. If there isn’t some civility, understanding and encouragement among us, then the whole thing would be very disheartening. And that would be a teerible pitty for I have met amazing people the cyberspace way.

I am loving this series and am anxious for you to keep writing more so I can keep cluing in- I am interested in starting a blog but have found so much it is about overwhelming! I feel so left out when giveaways offer extra entries for snagging buttons to add to your blog, blogging, contests, blogging posts that you know will also be interesting to your readers etc… I want to start one so badly and all these “blogtiquette’s” you are mentioning help- Believe it or not quite a few bloggers are inspiring me and I started going to blogs to find out different styles, subjects, etc AND to find out who chose what when it came to starting their blog and how they got started… I would love to know from you… Hosted or self-hosted, how did you decide? Layout, readers and all that (which I am still becoming familiar with) how did you choose? & more & more- Thx!
“That’s what blogging and community is about not tearing each other down and making fun of people or having a whole blog dedicated to bashing another blogger”
This really goes on? It sounds like high school all over again. I do not even like the sound of that and I was ignorant to the fact that it happened. I’m glad I haven’t come across any of that which surprises me – I visit over 1,000 blogs and have 848 on the blog rolls of my 8 blogs. Hmmmmmm…

Sounds like a bad epidsode of Gossip Girl haha. I don’t have a blog but i follow many and I’ve yet to be a part of a “bad”one..lucky I guess. Maybe some will see your blogitquette lessons and take it to heart but more than likely they will use it to fuel their vindictiveness and cattiness. You can take the “mean girl” out of junior high but you and take the “junior highness” out of a mean girl!!
I’m about 6 months late on commenting but great vlog! LOVE it and couldn’t have said it better myself! Love the accent too lol.
