We love a good pulled pork sandwich, so I just had to share with you the BEST slow-cooker pulled pork recipe I’ve ever made! You can enjoy a delicious pulled pork sandwich this spring/summer with family and friends and trust me when I say that you will be the food rockstar at your next get together if you bring this delicious slow-cooker pulled pork recipe! While my family eats it on bread (hey, what can I say, we love our carbs) this slow-cooker pulled pork can be enjoyed as a main dish sans the bread.
Before getting into the recipe, let me just tell you that garlic is my best friend and this was the first time I put garlic into my slow-cooker pulled pork recipe and I was super impressed. I don’t know what in the dickens kept me from adding it before now. SO DELISH!
Without further ado, here is the BEST slow-cooker pulled pork recipe:

The BEST Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork
This pulled pork is great for busy weeknights (prep the day before if you need to) or even those BBQ parties you know we all love.
Ingredients
- 1 5-6 pound boston butt roast
- 5-10 whole garlic cloves (I love garlic, so I went heavy)
- 3 whole Onions (Cut in half, ends removed)
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tbsp black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp salt
Instructions
-
Place four of the onion halves on the bottom of the slow-cooker. Combine dry spices and rub on the pork roast. Next, stud with the garlic cloves. Place the pork roast on onions halves in the slow-cooker. Pour water over roast. Place remaining onion halves on top of roast. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or high for 5-6 hours
-
Turn slow-cooker to warm setting (or low if no warm setting available) Take pork roast out and shred (discard fat, remove onions and garlic) and return to slow-cooker.
-
Pour bbq sauce in with shredded pork and toss to coat. Let stay in slow-cooker for thirty minutes to one hour before serving. Eat on buns or alone! Top with more bbq sauce, if desired.
Recipe Notes
You can adjust your dry spices to taste (or get creative and try it with other spices)
