Being Heart Healthy With Cambell’s

Recently my father in law suffered two heart attacks and it has really opened my husband and my eyes. We have really been taking a look at what we need to do to take care of ourselves. It’s so easy to not think about what you are putting into your body, and just go about your day. However some of the things you put into your body can affect it negatively later down the road and that is what we want to avoid.

Making the changes may not be easy but you have to take care of yourself. I know I want to live for generations to come and want the same thing for my loved ones. Take the time to focus on your health and the health of the ones you love. Take the steps you need to, so you are in tip top shape for many years to come! Here are a few tips I am trying to follow as I journey on the road to a healthier heart!

RelaxingRest! It’s so important that you allow your body time to rest. No matter what you are doing (working out, spring cleaning, shoveling snow) make sure you are not pushing your body to the limit. Our hearts can only handle so much…they need regrouping time…and it’s good for you.

Campbell's Heart HealthWatch what you eat. Sure it’s okay to indulge every once in awhile but if your diet consists of soda’s, snack cakes, and fatty foods all the time, you are not giving your heart the nutrients it needs to stay in tip top shape. Take out fatty meats and add in fruits & veggies and reduce your sodium (this is a big one for me…I am a total salt-aholic). Try something new. I love the Campbell’s 100% Natural Chicken with Brown rice soup. It’s so tasty and I am getting lots of veggies.

I want to be around as long as possible for my kids and if that means sacrificing a few things now to add years to my life I am going to do it. What about you, what are some tips you have for being a little more heart healthy?
