Aloha Friday 8/21/09

I have not done this in awhile and thought…I need to do Aloha Friday again. I have some down time and a no thinking post is going to be best today ๐Ÿ™‚

I am reading one of the cutest little books, called, 1001 things it means to be a mom. Here are some of the things it means to be a mom according to the book (some are funny, some are serious):

~ Being a mom means buying a pretend toaster that is almost as expensive as a real one.
~ Being a mom means giving up the cool convertible for a minivan.
~ Being a mom means trying to do business on the phone, while your child is crying in the background.

So my question today is:

What does being a mom mean to you?

Make it funny, Make it serious, whatever comes to mind when you think Being a mom means….

Happy Friday.

Hi! I'm Toni. I am a happily married, christian, momma of 3 living on Florida's sunny Gulf Coast. I am a lifestyle blogger and Seint Arist. I started blogging when my last child was born as a way to share my love of all things travel, cooking, beauty, recipes, and more. Now pull up a chair, grab a glass of sweet tea and let's get to know each other. I truly hope you enjoy getting A Daily Dose of Toni!

  1. 1

Being a mom means to me that I can no longer be selfish and just think about my wants & my needs. That was something that I learned right away when he was born. Sometimes it's hard to balance, but I always try to put my child first.

  2. 2

Being a mom means regularly making scarifices to make your child happy and loving it.

  3. 3

Being a mom means laughing at endless jokes that don't even make sense.

Being a mom means counting the minutes until bedtime and then missing your kids as soon as the house is finally quiet.

Being a mom is hard, but so worth it.

  4. 4

Smothering a child with love and affection.

  5. 5

I am not certain I can put it into words. I have been a mom for 17 years, it is who I am, not what I do. I cannot imagine being anything else.

  6. 6

It means crayon on the walls is part of your decorating scheme!

  7. 7

Complete and total fulfillment. It's everything I ever wanted and more.

    Being Mom means….

… running naked to their room when they whine.. because I can NEVER find anything to throw over my large naked butt at 2am. Nor do I care.

  9. 9
    Amy A.K.A. "The Mrs."

Being a Mom means being the only one who is prepared for anything and packing the diaper bag accordingly.

I can't believe I'm first of comment. Yahoo!!!!

Being a mom means plastering on a smile while your child plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, for the VERY first time after taking violin lessons for two weeks.

  11. 11

Being a mom to me means that, no matter what, their needs come first and above all else. And it's done with happiness and love in my heart; not because I have to!
Oh gosh, I could go on and on……this is such a wonderful question!!

  12. 12

Being a mom to me means nursing my son before eating when I'm starving, and changing his diapers before using the bathroom when I have to GO RIGHT NOW. It means putting my son's needs before my own, and happily. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. 13

Being a mom is the best gift the Lord has given me.

It even means hiding in the closet to talk to an old friend. If only for a moment or two.

Being a mom is about the good and the bad. Its the memories we make and the time we spend.

  14. 14

Being a Mom is caring, sharing, loving, nurturing, supporting, comforting, teaching, and reaching out for those little lives that God has seen fit to put into your care. Nothing better in the world that being a MOM.
